a b16a1 swap would be much easier to perform, since there were cr-x's that came with them

So that would mean that the engine mount and stuff like that should line up in the RTi right?

maybe. in the crx it shouldn't have a problem.. the RTi is a different generation, unless you're speaking of a 5th generation RTi i haven't heard of....

Without having any idea how the system actually works no one can make a judgment call. I imagine this 4WD setup would cost alot of money and custom work and prolly not be worth it. Go import yourself an RHD.

Well I guess its back to plan A "Install a D16A Turbo and Intercooler :D

The main reason I wanted to swap the motor is besause I wanted Vtec and a DOCH rather than a SOCH is the their a big performance difference between Single and Dual OHC?

There is every atvantage to having a DOHC motor over a SOHC motor.

Why dont you swap a b20b and put a vtec head on it that would be one hell of a motor plus the b20 i already out of the 4wd cr-v but i dont think youd want to use the transmission because of the long gears but thats probaly the biggest concern in this swap (transmission).

a b20z would be a better, but more expensive, choice

wouldnt the transmission be the biggest problem? correct me if im wrong. think about it though putting a b20 into a 4wd civic and then either turbocharging it or a vtec head or both! it sounds like this swap would cost some money to get a quality build but the result sounds like a winner. another question what about suspension?

B16 series engine with 4WD

The B16 can be mated to some of the CR-V series drivetrains... bit of an expensive mod though... I have an RTi 4WD... 'tis got a ZC motor... NOS'd up... i love my 4WD launching hondarrr... :D

i think you're confusing things gabe.... the RTi is NOT a wagon.

the civic RTi (EK5) is a sedan, powered by the d16a hyper 16-valve engine... and it is 4wd.
Yes the RTi is both a 4th gen wagon and a 5th gen sedan. :P
I know... i have one.. the wagon that is.
