So the RTi that you have is a Gen 4 Wagon ?

If so, could the same mod be done on the Sedan?

Gotta remember, this is a JDM wagon, not USDM - you prolly havn't seen one before. We only get JDM Honda's in NZ. It is a reg 4th gen wagon but with a 1.6L DOHC ZC motor, putting out around 120HP..
It has an RT-4WD system which only kicks in the rear WHEN YOU BREAK TRACTION. Its not full time, there for no 'power loss' as such.
Its great for launching.
:D
In fact... really f**kin fun... hehehe

Pics..

I'll try and get hold of a digicam tomrrow and see if i can get some pics on here.
As far as specs go, its pretty much the same as a JDM Si Civic, but its a wagon with the RT-4WD system, and the wagon rear suspension setup... drum brakes on the rear, an aerofoil on the back that actually provides downforce (unlike most ricers wings)..
They come with spotlights and roof racks (which i removed) and some even have little bull bars... cute!
hehe... it has a 400kg capacity in the boot, not including the total wheel load, its around a 1000kg's too. I sold the NOS about three weeks ago because i want to go all-motor, will be interesting to see what i can get out of it.

You guys have no idea how hard this would be. You are forgettting that you will need a drive shaft running to the back wheels(there is no room for one) and you'll also have to put in a rear diffy and some rear drive axels. Honda Tuning is doing a 4wd conversion on an Integra right now, and it is one HUGE ass job. Lots and lots of custom work is involved. For the gains it isn't worth the work.

Me again.

I found out that their is a D16 engine (D16Z) which is a SOHC Vtec it has the same amount of cc's as the D16A.
check this site out ( http://www.4thgenerationcivic.com/engines/engines1.htm )

Would it be possible to swap the head from a D16Z6 engine to a D16A?
Never Mind my quesion I already found out that it can be done and its called an mini-me swap

Here is an idea...why not just ship a RTi here and put what ever engine you want in the car.....There are tons of ways to make this happen....the absolute cheapest way would take time...but you just have to pay the cost of the car....which if you know the right people...probably would be less than 3-4K, here is how I recommend this;
First off, either make a friend or find someone in Japan who is in the military about to move back to the states.....this is for 2 reasons, 1....on base people have to deregister their cars prior to moving and sale them, otherwise the car itself can not be resold once they are gone....so cars on bases usually sale for really cheap...I bought my civic for 150 US dollars, it was a gen 5, and on to reason # 2....the military includes one car in the PCS shipment for free, most "single military" members overseas do not even own a car, so this part of their shipment is usually not used....and the shipping is free....but it will be a hassle for the individual having to deregister the car and prepare it for shipping so make sure to pay him a little something in return...

Just an idea, it worked for me at times.

Hello, well I haven´t read all the forum, I also have an Rti and 6 months Iago was wondering about changing the engine, somewhere in the internet I found a way to convert a D16A into a B16A, i really don't remember where it is and of course I haven't made the try, but maybe it is posible, and you dont need to mess with the gear box (because the gearbox is the one in charge of the rear traction). Thinking again, maybe there isn't any problem changin the whole engine becase in the exterior, except for the "tapa de balancines" (sorry I dont know how to say this in english), engines are very similar.
