Yeah, I'm sure everybody could have done better but traction on that track sucked balls! We were at bama, I don't know if you've ever been there. I'll send you a pm next time I go which will be in about 2-3 weeks, and we should meet up. I def. drive/launch better on the street. That was the first time on a track for me, and the first time I launched it on the track was about my 4th time launching the car period. I was hooking up so good on the street, I don't know what happend at the track. On the street I prob. could have ran a 9.6-7??? Plus I've heard of near stock civics running 16's/high 15's in the 1/4 so I'm gonna have to dissagree with that.ItsAnEP3 said:
1/8 is all about the first half of the race, and still depends on power. It's easier to launch a lower powered car, than a high powered normally. The times I got beat were because of a bad launch but I would start pulling on them pretty hard but they got too large of a jump to catch up to in a short 1/8 of a mile. that is true...its way easier to launch a lower powered car....i would launch the hell out of my d series.....and spin for a moment....then have complete hook up...with the b16.....i definetly launched....broke and axle....and the differential....so the runs i actually made it down the track....i spun probly horribly...

9.9 would be around mid to high 15's I think.
I ran 9.7 and I ran a 14.8
I know I know....My launches were sucking....I was launching very low...3500 rpm.....
