Man, I dont know what part of Japan you are stationed in, but Im guessing the reason why there are "15" of them in your dorm lot is because of the americans stationed there that bought them during their stay like you. even outside of the gate i see them everywhere. There is no defending what we see man. They are everywhere i am not hating on them but they are a hella more common place here than the states and rightfully so...they have none in the states. You may see 1 a year if you are lucky.

first off i have lived here for 3 years. secondly i used to live off base. the only thing i do on base is work. i see skylines everywhere. they suck for a few reasons. but before i list them have you ever drove one? owned one?
they are old rust buckets generally speaking
they have no creature comforts
the handle like ASS
the drivetrain is weak
the R33 looks like a beached whale and handles worse than one
the R32 isnt far behind
uncomfortable un-ergonomic interior
extremely common. you can throw a rock in a parking lot and hit one
the R32's RB20 breaks ALL the time.
its outdated technology
the worst and i mean worst gauge cluster in the history of cars both r33 and R32
they look like s**t, even with exterior mods.
its a very old, soft chassied, washed up japanese "sports" car
quite possibly the worst feeling manual tranny ever
those are just some reasons...drive one and u will see
the only positives i see about them is that they are cheap. you can get them for free even sometimes
cheap to modifiy
parts are everywhere for them
any semi-retared monkey can work on them themselves with out having to take it to a shop

free really has nothing to do with the performance of a car...you can get Honda Integras for free on base also. as a matter of fact my supervisor was leaving japan and he gave his GSR Integra to one of his troops. it happens all the time. same with Civic Ferios.42Steps said:No, I have not.... both Skylines i had were GTS-T...RB20DET turbo and RB25DET turbo. they both had a few mods. exhaust, electronic boost controller, the R33 had tomoi (sp?) cams. they were lowered. nothing big

i know your joking about the neon lights kits, and huge wheels not being their domestic market right?...ever read D-car magazine? thats a japanese tuning magazine similar to our Superstreet in america. check it out.
ever wonder why the japanese mod their car with aftermarket parts? becasue thier stock parts suck. its stock!! do you ever see a japanese person with a "modified" car with all USDM parts? like a white backlit clock...mph gauge cluster? non power folding mirriors? of course not.
