Thing is, when you're mining, creepers can spawn within the darkness and you can run across spiders. So, you have to be aware when mining deep and watch for the exploding penis. They always get me.I'm fairly certain that the tearing down/building/survival portion sounds interesting. But I still don't really get the survival part. If you create a house that they can't get into, then you survive? I wish that some major system developer would come up with this stuff, and implement it into a zombie game like Left 4 Dead.
in a multiplayer world, yes, the monsters will still appear after you've signed out. in single player, the game is "paused" when you log off. monsters can appear anywhere there's total darkness. this means they'll be underground and just about anywhere at night, unless you have torches lit. (you make torches by cutting wood and mining coal, cutting the wood blocks into planks, making the planks into sticks, and, finally, combining sticks with coal). there's lots of different monsters, with the creeper being the most destructive one. you can tell these guys are near when you hear some hisssssssssing. and yeah, they blow up and destroy stuff you've made, parts of the landscape, etc. you can craft a bow, arrows, swords, armor, etc. to defend yourself.I'm still interested to know how this "survival mode" works. Do the things still "come out" if you're not signed on? Can they break through barriers that you create?
