and also, you can put 96-98 rear lips on 99-00 bumpers, but you have to remove the factory hardware and use your own.

Right, which ruins one of the very few '96-'98 rear lips out there. You actually have to break the brackets off.

I'm curious to know what is the cutoff for what makes the car? Because I've heard people say that an engine makes a particular car before. So I'm wondering if there is grey area there or if it's just black and white. Never thought of it before, but BlackHope's comment brought it to mind.

Interesting... I'd like to see the mounting from a stock lip just to know for sure, but it seems like a possibility. I wonder why it was removed and when (first, second owner, etc... not sure how many people have owned your car).

me either ...they were prolly lousy drives and pulled up to far on a parking thing and cracked it in half and threw it away...

If it were the first owner I'd think they had some sort of say in getting the lip (if they ordered it, they ordered it with that lip, if they didn't order it, they could have gotten another car). So I'd think it unlikley they would treat the car that rough when they knew the stuff they paid extra for would get torn up. So far we know from sk8shorty017 that the sideskirts alone for your car would cost $511 apiece, so it's not like they didn't pay a decent amount for it.

ok heres the story my car was bought new in Manchester, CT on 2/7/98 At Manchester Honda

then somehow goto Elm City,NC and then got repo from that person ended up at a dealership near me and then boom yours truely has it....i just looked in the owners manual im gonna try and get more background on my car

My car was picked up on 6/11/1998. I know it was registered in DE for both owners. My previous '97 EX was from Jersey though I think.

So then those should be the EX sideskirts, which shows they're the same as the ones I have which are Si sideskirts. Which are both the same as the base sideskirts, just smooth and painted.
