Need a short throw shifter that's more than just the stick

i am considering getting a skunk2, but i've been hearing that short shifters in general, because they are longer from the ball joint to where the linkage bolts on, causes the "counterweight" piece attached to the linkage to hit the exhaust (behind the cat). have heard some people's (like yours) fit fine and others (the majority, imo) have had trouble with the fitment.

odd, but it's necessary to remember, that although we have the "same" model cars, not all are the same. still very odd though

true, but i think its rather odd too. i would think there wouldn't be that much difference in that area, but then again, there is rubber hangers and whatnot.
