**Need Advice on A Good Radar Detector**

Get a valentine one. They tell wich direction the cop is. You can go to http://valentine1.com/ and read about them.

It won't tell you s**t if the cop is pacing you. He could be 8 inches off your bumper and the V1 won't do a thing if his radar/lidar is off.

It's not literally radar... like it actively senses out where the cops are. It's more or less an elaborate antenna for detecting the types of speed checking equipment cops use

When using a radar/laser dedector you still have to use your brain and be aware of your surroundings(constantly looking farther ahead and watching traffic behind you). If a cop were 8 inches from my bumper i could see him in my rear view mirror. It is true that when cops are using laser you will get virtually no warning however, the cop has to be standing still and have a clear shot of you Most people will see the cop on the side of the road aimming a big gun looking thing out the window.

hahahah, seriously radar detectors are essentially worthless, if you don't speed you won't get pulled over, if you do speed, do it in areas where you know there will not be police, I know for a fact Washington State Patrol uses LIDAR and as soon as they press the clocking trigger and your laser detector goes off you are still screwed cuz you are already clocked, waste of money in my opinion, and I have been ticket free for my entire life of driving without one so yeah...

Well whoever says radar detectors are useless has obviously never owned a high end unit! As long as you have a car or two in front of you to trigger the cop (using instant on) you'll have plently of time to slow down. Cops running constant on well the high end units will pick them up for miles.

Yes the WSP uses lidar (kustom pro laser III's to be exact)! Almost all jammers are effective in jamming the pro laser III's since they are the easist to jam and BTW it's perfectly legal to jam lidar/laser in WA State.
