Remember, even if you resume is not eye catching, force their eye onto you. You should follow up with every job you submit your application to (unless specifically told not to follow up). I ended up in my current position simply because I stuck to this rule. I was much less qualified than my competitors, but my persistence and the fact that I showed I was willing to go the extra mile, is what got me the job.

That is REALLY good advice With the latest discussions my wife and I have had, we're gonna be ok, but we'll be MUCH better once things fall into place. New job, new house, new area, new outlook

aside from your job search? have you considered going to a school like MMI or something? Not sure where you reside in FL but my buddy lives down there now in the Orlando area and is going to MMI at night.
Apparently they are affiliated with alot of motorcycle companies that hire alot of MMI grads. Harley, Honda, BMW, etc.

would not hurt to check out, considering you like to work with your hands.

I am ASE certified (automotive) and have had a wrench in my hand most of my life. Training isn't the issue, it's the lack of jobs.

Now if you meant for a change of scenery, and somewhat of a career change, I appreciate the input and have considered the option.
I am about 45 minutes away from both Orlando and Daytona Beach (the original MMI) but, as started previously, finances won't allow for paid training at this time. If nothing else, I'll be going to bar tending school, when finances allow.

^^Disney tends to accept certain personality types to match the environment. Not everyone is cut out to be a disney employee, but definitely not a terrible idea.

Don't know too much about working for universal.

@puma the last time I applied for financial aid, they literally laughed at me :/ Now that I have my son, things may have changed, but, that's where my arch enemy "Captain Catch22" comes in; we can't afford day care on one income, and I have to work at least 20 hours a week to qualify for the ELC program (early learning coalition, day care assistance for working parents)

But, now that I've said that, I would like to assume that being a student would qualify me... I'll look into it

@redline; if I haven't found anything by the time our lease is up, I'll consider it

Also, I am "permanently disqualified" from any employment at Disney, they have a strict No Tattoos policy :/
I have several apps in at Universal (studios, Island of adventure, city walk, etc) SeaWorld, etc.

@joe; spot on, And if Casey Anthony worked "at" Universal (studios) I'd like to think I could work there, but again, if they don't have open positions, the effort is all in vain :/

I don't get how you can't get financial aide. I see ignorant people(yes i'm being racist but Joe deletes my NWORD all the time)
..I see them going to school for free and have kids in that school's daycare too.

I guess it varies per state.

Like I said, I haven't tried since Kenny was born, I'm sure I'll qualify for something, but my credit is probably the biggest factor :/ He has a dentist appointment in the near future (in Daytona Beach) I'll stop by the MMI there and see what's what also, as lame as this might sound, but are they going to teach me how to ride? It'd be a shame to learn how to fix them and not be able to test drive the finished product lol
