Obviously. I've only been working in that industry for years. We're currently saving for a house, and unfortunately I need to buy a new car before then, which is a big no-no.

Key words. NEVER finance anything before buying/refinancing. Always do it after the fact, so it shows lenders you have more disposable income. Financing a vehicle is much easier than a home.

That's why I'm not fond of the idea of buying a new car before the house. I'll be financing the car, and I won't pay off the loan prematurely for credit reasons. While $400/m payment+insurance won't hurt me, it's still $400 that I won't have just piling in the account. Granted, I don't intend to use that 400 towards a house payment, it's the disposable that I want higher.
