the 10-22 is ef-s? if so it should be able to work w/ the 10 series as well, but not the single series.

ok, you're right
Only compatible with the 30D, 20D and Digital Rebel series cameras
so it wouldnt work with the d60 either

huh, i dunno

the 20d and 30d are both 8.2mp cameras

the 10.1.mp would allow for slightly larger prints

wow....

In a recent meeting with Canon, it was brought to my attention that the 10-22 EF-S actually uses all L-series glass. Canon does not want to give the L moniker to any lens that isn't full-frame, so the 10-22 is labelled an EF series lens, but optically, Canon considers it L-quality. The "L" classification does not automatically mean "perfect, flawless lens," but most the superior L-series glass does go a long way to explaining the quality of this excellent lens.
after taking just a few pictures with this lens, i can see why they add something like that blurb to every revview i've seen

my 18-55mm is officially retired, no room in the bag and no use for it

It is. I would still keep the 18-55. I love my 10-22 to death, but you can almost overdue the wideangle-ness of it.

When you use flash, the 10-22 had shadow spots because it is TOO wide for the flash to hit, so it doesnt work in every application.

I use my 18-55 for good ol' basic looking photos of cars and stuff when I need it, and flash stuff. The 10-22 gets a lot of use though.
