We were also playing some FF XI but I really didn't like that game. It was kinda boring imo

The maps aren't that bad at all.... Its just after you go to a few more areas and have quests that link the places togethor, then you have to travel... A lot...

Thank god for Wind Riders/Bats/Griffons....

I actually played FFXI for about a month right before I got WoW.... I think the only reason I played it for that long, though, was because I had quite a few friends that played and gave me a lot of s**t....

But yeah, definitely is a LOT of farming in FF XI.... Really tedious and tiresome....

Do I get a animal that I can ride once I get to a certain level? or do I have to find one to ride, and how would I do that?

When you hit lvl 40 you can train in riding a mount... That costs a pretty penny...

Then you buy your race specific mount from the vendor.... Different races are at diff locations....

Tauren = Kodo - Bloodhoof Village
Undead = "Undead" Horse (dont remember the exact name, Felsteed?) - Brill
Troll = Raptor
Orc = Wolf
Human = Horse
Dwarf = Dont remember
Gnome = Mechanical chicken like thing
Night Elf = Panther

The vendors and trainers are always right next to each other....

Felsteeds are only for warlocks.
dwarves get rams
gnomes get mechanostriders.

that ranged attack power isn't even correct.
with trueshot aura and aspect of the hawk, it's like 1300.

Decided to make a priest today on a relatively new server to play with a friend of mine.

Just so you know, if you haven't done it yet.... Rites of Vision was, not sure if it still is, broken... You drink the elixer and then nothing, you don't see the vision..... All you need to do, though, is head North until you reach Thunder Bluff.... You can't miss it....

When you reach it and your map is updated, check your map.... Look to the west for a small cave against the wall of mtns..... In there will be a guy you need to talk to.... Bingo Bango done.....
