its a silvia front on a 180sx body.....nissans made a few of these from the factory becasue it became such a popular modification among drifters.

my friend jessicas car is a 180sx. its a 180sx with a kouki S14 silvia front end

Yeah ... and a 180sx had a CA18DET .... .... so a S13 front end, which he has planned, would make it a SilEighty conversion.

noo not all of them. only the 89-91 i belive. the rest had redtop SR20dets.

my friend jessies is a 93 and her came with a redtop SR20

At any rate, it's a very reasonably priced entry level turbo motor, and is gaining decent aftermarket suport as far as turbo upgrades.

And it came in:

* 1987-1988 Nissan Silvia S12 (International market)
* 1989-1990 Nissan Silvia/180SX S13 (International market)
* 1989 Nissan Bluebird SSS Atessa (International market)
* Nissan Exa Turbo (Australia)

in the US there is very little aftermarket support for the CA. you willl be better off with the sr20. but ihate both motors. we swapped a RB20DET from a R32 Skyline when i had a S14 Silvia. it was fun but nose heavy.

my opinion? keep the KA.
if you really want to be different swap a Sr20DE in. keep it all motor

Good deal Joe. I'd get rid of that lethargic KA if I were you too. Jason tells me he'e heard it's a great block and all, but I've only heard my Nissan friends b***h about theirs. Not to mention my stock Y8, slipping clutch, heavy ass EX beating my friend's 240.

Sounds like it will come out looking great. I only wish I could have the chance to detail it. First thing I thought of when I saw the taillights. I miss detailing 240s.
