PPG paint is kinda pricey yo i think Nason or sraight Chromabase will look better PPG paint kinda suck to me but good luck dude u should let me paint it. I bought a pink hatch hehe i;m done with my 4door yo! I'm painting that b***h back to midori green or sunset orange. Good luck and this time 50% overlap with base and 75% clear o by the way what kinda clear are you using? Trendstar? Euro? Nason? 2k(mustard clear) try Trendstar 2k clear it leaves ya s**t wet without the super river runs. just some tips bro! if u need any tips on prep, flash times, spraying etc. hit me up!
Yeah I'm going with PPG...thats what is carried in this area. Did you have a pressure gauge on your gun..? I bought one that has one with it so we can make sure we know how much pressure is going into the gun. What was the mixture ratio for your primer..? did you use a dark or light primer..? I got some primer tonight and It is a lil bit darker than what I wanted...it looks to be about the same darkness as the last primer we used...which is not what I want. I think i'm going to return it tomorrow and get some light gray/white primer instead...I don't want this paint to come out darker than what its supposed to (like last time):

I just wanna make sure that its going to be as close to the correct shade that EBP is supposed to be. hit me up on aim: genuinerolla

Yeah, we're doing this all ourselves...we got pretty much all of the air tools we need for body work and whatn0t. If you want bro, come on down and my buddies and I could prolly help you out. Its simple work, it just takes time to make sure its all even, etc.

Its going for primer today...!!!:D

bodywork isnt a joke, nor a an easy "diy"... good proper body work will take a GOOD chunk of time.

Dont forget to block as much of your car as you can after your primer has set, and when you do block it go with as LONG of a stroke as you possible can (try to cover the whole panel with one stroke), use a "died" coat as we call it around the bodyshop i work at, take some just black spary paint, and kinda spatter it all over the car (on the primer), and sand until it has all been sanded off and everything is nice and even.

preach homie dats what i've been telling them i'm in a body shop 6 hours a day 5 days a week and doing s**t the right way is no joke it's time consuming and it takes skill to do it right so bump all the lies yo. He is right yall get u a wet sanding long block and go to work its better to block than using air tools only use air tools when the wipe is thick and u knock it down with ya DA but for wet sanding only use wet sanding blocks, if dry sanding like homie said use a guide coat and sand until that guide coat is gone then u will know when its close to being even. 180 for wiped areas 400 for primer areas, then 600 wet sand everything thats gonna b painted before prep.

yeah..it does take a lot of time and i've been doing that black spray paint tip...works out great. ...all that is left to sand is the roof and hoping today or tomorrow (since i have it off) that we'll spray the primer finally. EJ6civic27 Came down yesterday and and helped him lower his car..finally:cool: and got his girl my old OEM bumper for her car. I think we've worked 3-4 days on just knocking down the clear coat from last summers paint job.

Whats left to be done:
Sand the roof
2-3 coats of primer
Wet sand primer with 800 grit
Tac rag, acetone, etc (prep for paint)
3 coats of paint
wet sand and buff etc.

New pics coming this evening. =)

you and me both. I don't want to do this again....I hate doing stuff over.

Anyone know what the mixing ratio should be for primer...I looked on the can and I didn't see anything. I'll look again when I got home i'll look harder to see if i can find some mixing ratio's on the can.

I didnt think primer really needs to be mixed with anything. I mean, its primer. Its gonna be UNDER the paint. Just make sure its not too thick, and not to runny. I'd guess 3 parts primer to 1 part reducer? :what:

The guy at the store said that I could mix it anyway that I want...but it has to be reduced because its thick. He said I could mix it 1:1 if I wanted....I couldn't find anything on H-T for it and couldn't find a really concrete answer from google....

it needs to be mixed with a low, medium, or high, temp hardener and some thinner so it wont plug up the gun.
