nice pick up. i believe that is the base model right? still i love them no matter what it has on it. we had a black one that looked exactly like that. only had it for one day some guy came in and bought it the same day it arrived. again congrats man. now get the honda lip kit and 18's and it will be very nice.

What's going on Blake?! I saw this too on CRSX, and it was funny reading his thread...i remember his '05 RSX-S, that thing was nice...I felt bad that he had to trade in for $21K, but the new Si was a good purchase.

yeah he traded, another guy actually bought an 06 si also, it looks HUGE compared to the 05 RSX. He said the only thing he was truely impressed by was the gear box, no grind at all. All in all, he said he was more content with his 05 Type-S. I will post those pics..hold on.

This is the review from the owner of both the 2006 Si and 2005 RSX Type-S shown above. This is his words on the new civic:

Exterior:

The exterior styling of the 2006 civic si has really grown on me since day one. I love the look of the front end, however the rear seems a little bulky to me. This particular car is pictured with the hfp aero kit, which in my opinion adds a nice touch. What i do dislike however are the wheels and the rear wing.

Interior:

Im very please with the interior of the car. The pedals are a real nice touch, along with the shift knob and seats. However i think the gauge cluster will take some getting use to. The interior seems to be made of nice quality honda fabrics.

audio:

The system has a nice bump to it for a stock system. Nothing really special in my opinion. One thing that may be a pain in the ass is the fact that the climate controls and head unit are all one. It may be a while till we see a dash kit for this car.

Engine Bay:

At first glance the engine bay looks way too crammed. It does not even seem like you would be able to pull the engine. Im sure swapping a header will be a pain in the ass on this car. This has to be one aspect of the car that really bugs me. It seems that it also has a built in torque damper. Another thing that is interesting is this car is suppose to have a factory cold air intake. It is close to being one than the rsx is but it still has a box in the engine bay that will heat soak. However it has tubing that runs under the engine from what i can tell without removing the battery.

Transmission:

The shifter has a great smooth flow to it. It was not notchy one bit and was actually amazingly smooth. This has to be one of my favorite aspects of the car since my type s transmission is far from smooth.

Performance:

The car has a nice tone to it at idle and wide open throttle. However i think drive by wire really ruins this car and makes it feal like it has 0 torque. As you mash on the pedal, there is a delay before you feal the acceleration. Overall i was not blown away performance wise. I trully expected more after all the hype over this new civic engine.

Handling:

The rear suspension is setup in a differant manner than the type s. The springs are seperate from the struts. Handling was very nice and solid especially while taking turns. The lsd really lets you rip through turns with ease and awsome traction. The ride was very comfy and precise in the twisties.

All in all i was not overly impressed with the car. I really expected much more after all the hype that i have been hearing. The lsd is nice and thats about all i really am blown away buy. Not because of its performance but because it is stock. As i stated before drive by wire is the downfall of this car.

However for the price this is a great vehicle to own in my opinion. However this may not be the best time to buy one as every dealership is marking them up sky high. While my girlfriend was shopping for the car she was quoted as high as $5000.00 over m.s.r.p, however she found a good deal. I feal that this car is an equal performer with the rsx type s. Which one you buy will be based on the amount you want to spend and looks which are subjective.

I personally would not purchase this vehicle and i am very content with my type s. I still feal that the rsx's looks are much more apealing, atleast for me.

I always thought they were the same size. What is the wieght difference?

I wonder if the drive by wire system can be replaced by the type-s throttle system to eliminate the delayed response.

An RSX isn't exactly the largest car....

Yes, the FGs are a little bit bigger compared to earlier Civics, but its not a large car in any aspect....

The Rsx is his and the SI is his gf's im on clubrsx too I like the new SI but i just prefer the styling of the Rsx much better.
