ya 1500 should be PLENTY to get them seated correctly
ya, they had the pistons and the rods, and it was over bored caz its 75.5mm instead of the stock 75mm..rings explain the low compression but improper piston to wall clearances explain both the low compresion and piston slap. someone messed up here. did the machine shop have the pistons when they did the bore/hone of the block?
i have eagle rods and the compression is 95psi on three cylinders but one cylinder is 150psi.. my turbo is a mitsubishi TEO4H, its a small turbo so it wont harm my engine but once everything is done i will upgrade to garrett GT28 or sumthing like that..I am about to install these into my D16. Any hints on these for me to put them in? What to not do so i dont have problems with these. Also what is your compression with Eagle H beams? And compression with FJ rods? What turbo are you running?
the dish on the pistons and how low they sit below the deck also contributes to the how low it make the compression. Vitara pistons on a eagle H beam rod is around 8.5:1. If you use the FJT rods it bumps it up to 9 somthing to 1.rings explain the low compression but improper piston to wall clearances explain both the low compresion and piston slap. someone messed up here. did the machine shop have the pistons when they did the bore/hone of the block?
