I'm watching Glee at this very moment!
And this feature has been on various forums I'm on, for years. It usually turns out to be a bad idea. People will get butthurt about something, and start to subtract reps. On a couple forums it would determine if you were able to participate in certain areas of the board.
I don't pay attention to it. It's just another leg humping or e thugging feature to boost one's lack of self esteem so they become dependent on their internet friends/ego.

Same. I used to go on d-series.org a lot and only used it a handful of times. Never care for this stuff. While it may encourage positive and useful posts, most of the time, it just gives people a reason to +1 someone for no reason. If someone posted their car in members rides that had a body kit, giant, what we would call ugly, and someone posted "ricer", I'm willing to bet people would +1 rep him for that.
But hopefully it turns out to serve the purpose ya'll hope it does.
Reputation for the knowlegeable based on "helpful hints"? Too bad this didn't start 7 years ago. Most folks steer clear of helping because it's the same questions we've help answered for over 10 years like a broken record. None of us are ASE certified mechanics or experienced Honda technicans, well maybe some that are far and few inbetween.
