Thanks man.. it's still not done though!well the 2 yrs of hard work and lots of money sure did pay off, congrats dude
You really should pick one up.. they're fun!You make me wanna go out and buy a hatch this very second! Best build by far!
Ha I'm sure with shipping they'll be a bit more expensive than the $6 I paid for this one, thanks man!!!Hit me up next time you need t-bolts, haha.
Build is looking good so far dude!
Will keep the updates coming.. more in store in the future.. just waiting for spring to come!damn dude jus read through all the pages.. you came a LONG way. This was a crazy build i defintely give you props on it man. The cars looking great. I'm thinkin bout buildin up my 94 civic a bit. keep us updated on future upgrades
...idk yet... it's been sitting in the garage ever since it got tuned, waiting on front trans/ps/ac brackets to hopefully help stop my wastegate top port from hitting the top of my FMIC upon downshifting. So is it a blast to drive or what? I bet you cant wait until the snow melts haha
My father did most of the work.. I helped when I could and tried to learn as much as possible along the way. It's been a lot of fun building the car and I can't wait for spring to cruise around! I'm towards Allentown area.Holy crap man best s**t ive seen in a while. You did alot of work all DIY??? I give you alot of props man where in Pennsylvania are you im in Philly and im aways looking for help. Its always a good time helpin out. My car is covered in snow right now, but when i get cleared out i got two projects im putting together. I can always use an extra set of hands. especially on my DD which is down rigt now too : (
Thank you sir, I'll enjoy it once it stops snowing!!very nice build man good work and great numbers. you better enjoy it!
Thanks man. I wasn't sure as to how many miles were on the engine when I bought the car, nor did I know how much it was beat on. It didn't last a year... about 10months before it blew. The internals were all stock so I knew it would eventually go, which just gave me a reason to rebuild it better! One of the valve retainers went and let the valve drop and get smacked by the piston..dude sick ass car, ive read through your whole build thread, lol. I am curious tho, when you had your stock motor how long did it hold before it poped? And are you really sure why it did or was it just a matter of it was a stock motor and only held for so long? lol Reason i ask is becuase im doing my first turbo build and im trying to sure up some things to see if i cant make this thing last for awhile. With your turbo also, its pretty big like the one i have, is it pretty laggy or is it actually pretty responsive at lower rpms for the size of it?
No problem, and thats funny tho because thats the EXACT turbo that i have, lol Im trying to find people who have used it to see what they think about the spool time it has. Im using a top mount with my setup too, im sure that will hurt my spooling time also. But i got a good deal on it and couldnt pass it up. Its a shame your near allentown, Id say if you were closer we should meet up sometime, cause if you'd ever want an sc61 and its too much or too laggy for me we could possibly trade lol. Thanks man. The turbo isn't really that big, prolly around a 50 something trim.. I'd like to upgrade in the future to something along the lines of a precision sc61 or something. Spool wise... it's pretty quick mostly because of the ram style manifold and not being an overly large turbo. All in all... excellent for the street.. at least during the few miles I've put on it!
I would need a top mount to run that sc61... along with mods to my downpipe/dump tube. Thanks anyway man! Btw that worrys me a bit that a retainer dropped cause im using dual valve springs in my setup to try and prevent valve float, idk guess we will see if it holds or not, everything has low miles so time will tell, hah
I actually have the log manifold to go with it and the downpipe used. I bought it as a kit and just clocked the turbo to use a top mount. It fit perfect and no notching of the block was needed, just figured id bring that up, and thanks, i hope i dont drop a valve thats the only thing that worrys me lolI would need a top mount to run that sc61... along with mods to my downpipe/dump tube.
