Turbo OR Supercharged?

im planning on going with a d15b1 japanese motor swap, i wanna turbo or supercharged but i dont know which one would be worth the money, better for the motor, and easy on the mantines also please let me know on your opinon and why,

D15B VTEC? Turbo always... S/C wont do pretty much anything for you.... S/C would pretty good for like a B-series setup for AutoX.

since it doesn't have a blow off lol alot of people get that s**t just for the sound... that's why i would get it but that's cause im a Noob !

What kind of advice is that? S/C D15B you be lucky to see 150-170whp out the box. S/C SOHC D's have low output compard to turbo D's & have a shitty power/cost ratio. S/C average around $3,000 when you can put together a turbo setup for $600-1200bucks very easily

d series + $2000 turbo setup = low 14's

d series + $2000 supercharger... mid 15's

and no, the supercharger is no more reliable

hmmm, it depends on what SC you get, its all in the pully, sure its easy to turn up the bost in a turbo, but in a SC all it takes is a pully and a belt. SC are not worthless, just not cheap as a HMT kit. You all think i am here saying the SC is the best way to go, i am just saying its not the only way, a SC can hold its own.

and BTW good job pulling numbers out of your ass

your info... or lack there of gives no help

a turbo will yield more power for less money...
people have tried... this isnt a new science... the reason you dont see many s/c d series is because the d series doesnt respond worth a s**t to a s/c....

i agree that a turbo will make more power for less money, and i agree that turbos are better, but a supercharged D is also a good setup...its diffrent strokes for diffrent folks. most people are running only 10psi pullys on the D, and that is nothing like 10 psi on a turbo, it gets int to laws of thermodynamics and how much CFM it is flowing. Its like bolting on a little greddy kit at 5 or so psi with the tiny turbo. They can make alot more power, but people just buy them and bolt them on beacuse they want to be diffrent not faster.

let me lay out a short list of pros and cons

Supercharger
Pros: Always boosting, less parts needed, Torque.
Cons: Rediculous intake temps, expensive, somewhat limited potential.

Turbocharger
Pros: Best power per dollar, lower intake temps, somewhat less expensive.
Cons: Turbolag, lots of parts needed.

How about this. You do NOT put words in my mouth. I said "S/C wont do pretty much anything for you" speaking of the topic motor the D15B. Not saying S/C a worthless you tool. A f**king 03 Mach1 with a Procharger & 6psi pully is not worthless, Its a f**king nasty setup at that, but if you want to hear it from me a S/C D15B is straight out f**king WORTHLESS, You could go faster cheaper with a LS swap with bolt-ons then a f**king slow ass S/C D15B. Ive seen in my own eyes a ZC CRX with I/H/E leave a S/C D16Z6 Coupe like it wont s**t.
