Get it anyways and slap on a B16 headMy bad I read the text wrong, it was a LS motor, not a gsr.
8th gen styling is too futuristic IMO, I really don't like it.Get the GSR. $1100 total for a GSR swapped running car is a steal.
Oh and 99-00 6th gen > 7th gen in general (interior and exterior). Period. The only thing I would say the 7th gen wins with is the automatic shifter looks better. I think the 8th gen interior looks and functions the best. The arm rest sticks out nice and far so you can put your elbow on it and not have to lift it at all to shift into any gear. And the shifting is maaaaad butters. The dash is a little funky with how it's so long. But overall, I love the 8th gen.
Fair Comparison! 7th Gen WinI've had a 6th gen and a 7th gen so I'm not biased here.
7th gen interior is MUCH nicer IMO.
Yeah the 7th gens are slow but tbh I think they look the best.
And +1 on 7th gens looking good before the 8th gen s**t.
NOT a FAIR comparison, The 6th gen is rolling some 14in hubs, no lip, not in perfect condition but fair...Oh we are talking exterior now? The main difference between the 6th gen and 7th gen.....the tail lights and the body molding. Other than that, they are really similar.
Again I don't understand at all how someone can say the 6th gen looks nicer than the 7th gen. The huge differences between the two is that the 7th gen has different tail lights, and has a MUCH nicer interior. If someone likes the 6th gen more because it has a million times more aftermarket support, that is one thing......but saying that the 6th gen looks nicer is borderline ignorant when the body lines are almost the same.
That being said. Tonee I think you should get whichever engine you want. If you eventually plan on building, get the cheaper one. If you will leave it as is, spend the couple extra bills to get a lower mileage engine.
Okay, I have found good potential motors for the Civic... Help me decide (it's a money factor)...
'92 LS (b18a1) motor/tranny/ecu with 140k miles for $350
or
JDM '98 LS (b18b1) motor/tranny w/competition clutch/ecu with 80k miles for $800
I wouldn't mind having either of these motors and I know I'll eventually start trying to soop up the motor (I can't help it, it's too much fun)!
What would ClubCivic do?
EDIT: I got the info twisted up, the '98 is an JDM LS motor, not gsr...
Yea, I was thinking about leaving it stock as a daily for a while until I have some extra BS funds and decide to start modding it.That being said. Tonee I think you should get whichever engine you want. If you eventually plan on building, get the cheaper one. This is true... If ANY type of modding comes to mind, the only things I would really see myself doing is pulling the motor and have the machine shop clean up the head and block, replace all with new valvetrain components as well a some things in the block (maybe like honing, rings, headgasket, head studs etc). Just so the motor can be refreshed and feel brand new again...DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IT!!!!!! Or your a f**king homo, lol No homo
Seriously bro do it, or sell it to me for ummm 200 B18 b or a in that aspect is basically the same... If they are both in good shape, save some money now because when it comes to builds either one is build-able at the same cost.....
attempting to argue the value of something based on factors as subjective as looks boils down to a complete and total waste of time..Again I don't understand at all how someone can say the 6th gen looks nicer than the 7th gen. There is nothing subjective about it. I am not arguing which body style looks better, I am arguing that there is NO significant difference between the body lines of the 6th and 7th gen. It is not subjective, it is a fact that the overall body lines and shape of the two generations are VERY similar.attempting to argue the value of something based on factors as subjective as looks boils down to a complete and total waste of time..
no its not, its an opinion. There is nothing subjective about it. You are trying to tell me that you HONESTLY believe that the BODY LINES on the 6th and 7th gen Civic have huge differences between the two?no its not, its an opinion.
Thank you. That is a perfect example.
