So i made a big oops today. But i think it was worse in the monent than it is now that ive calmed down a bit.

I dont get much time to work on this truck as you all know. So when i do get time i take advantage and go all out.

So i decided after i got the frame table welded up that i was going to get the frame in it and get it tacked into place. Well, after i was done welding i texted a buddy but he said he couldnt come over until tomorrow.

So i said f**k it that ill just do it by myself. Turned out to be a bad idea.

Figured i could hold the front frame section with the cherry picker and cut the rest of the frame off where i needed.

Well as i started cutting one if the engine mount bolts in the block stripped out and the frame rails started twisting inwards.

Being by myself i really couldnt do much so i set it down and dropped the motor and took off the core support and bumper. So now i just have two frame rails.

Oh and it started raining too which pissed me off cuz i had a bunch of s**t outside.

After me and the wife threw everything back in the garage...

Old frame outside

And this is what i have to work with. Gonna be a b***h now...

Ya. I have to build a whole frame. Add air suspension on a whole new rear end that ive never messed with before. Build a turbo manifold. Finish welding the cab. And a bunch of other small things.

Its gonna be a rush. Oh and work 80-100 hours a week lol.

Well i really only needed to scrap the whole frame but i figured if i gotta do a new back half for the independent rear then i might as well just do firewall back and get rid of any bad already drug through portions of frame.

But i needed a new rear frame section for the independent rear setup im doing.

Big oops is fixed.

My buddy came over today and helped me get the front frame squared back up and tacked onto the frame table.

Then welded in some support bars which i shouldve done in the first place.

Started cutting out and mocking up new frame rails out of 2x3 1/8" wall steel.

Hope to get a bit more done today before the boys baseball game.

Progress, setback, then back to progress. Not many people have the patience for as long of a build as this. Nice job. :thumbs up

By taking a day off i meant taking a day off of work to work on the truck.

My buddy is coming over again tomorrow to help make sure everything is square and to have a second set of eyes before i fully weld the frame.
