Honestly, I think it's that, cause sometimes the entire OS will lock up to the point where it just sits there for 5 minutes. The laptop runs extremely hot so I've been running a cooling pad underneath but it isn't doing much help. Its a Toshiba satellite l305d-s5934.

Yeah, searching that model on the Googs, there's a bunch of people having overheating issues with it. Definitely spray it out with some canned air. Make sure the fan is even working.

A good way to test, download a program called HMonitor, which reads the HDD and CPU temps. Let your laptop sit off overnight so it's completely cool. Start her up, and immediately open HMonitor and check the temps after a few minutes or so. Leave it on, and recheck the temps a couple hours later and compare.

Yeah I used CPU-Z on my computer at home but I'm gonna see about that. I only need it for college since I can't take my desktop here unfortunately.

In the kitchen cleaning the stove that i made a mess in last night cooking prime rib :/

Then gonna go get a haircut and make sure ive got everything packed for 2 weeks in north dakota.

Then hopefully do some more work in the garage and possibly fix the brake line on the mazda.

Same thing happened to me when trying to pull out $10k in cash lol. Bank was like "EY DAFUQ MAN". Also tried to charge $2200 to a credit card once, without calling to confirm. They don't like that.

What model? It may just be that it's overheating. I know for certain models, such as a Dell E6400, they are PRONE to overheating. Intel chips use clock modulation, which detects the overheating and significantly turns down the processor speed. You have an AMD chip but I'm sure they have something similar.

Get some canned air in there too and spray around the fan, s*** may just be clogged up in there.

Sound advice. I've had to take some laptops apart because they had hair and s**t tangled around the CPU fan. Dust is always a big culprit. Sometimes the thermal paste on the CPU socket dries and up stops doing it's job, too. That's when things start to suck bad.
