auto crossers like sc's better?? all ive been told from auto crossers is get a good sized turbo, because you are going to be high in your revs, which is where the turbo makes the most power, and the sc makes the least.

thats not necessarily true about getting more tq with an sc... ive seen charts showing that you can get a good amount of tq out of a well sized turbo.
yes alot like a roots blower for the instant throttle response and low end grunt they "Should" make. JR sucks.
Peak power matters nothing be it drag street etc its your power band gearing etc. SC makes least power but in theroy *being that JR doesn't work too well i think it might be hondas tiny motors* you'd get the evil rev happy ness of a honda motor all high and you got a roots blower to make up for your lack of lowend giving you flat out power from idle to 8K.

But A roots/eaton blower i'd say is a better pic less power but all lowend where a honda needs it.
i thought jackon superchargers are eaton superchargers? if you go to the eaton website, you'll see that magnuson products is a distributor for eatons honda superchargers. if you click on their supercharger link, it says they get theirs from jackson racing and comptech. check out the link.

I figured the jr sc's are just eatons or reworked eatons. am i wrong on this?

i want a complete sleeper. i also dont want to do what everyone else is doing. thats why i thought sc cause i have come to see f/i brings larger gains at a cheaper price. my car is a daily driver, and i would like to do some racing. i am hoping to hit 200 hp and i dont want to spend outragous amounts of money. it seems as thought the best bang for my buck with f/i, especially seeing i dont really have as much know how as i should for a dyi setup, is an edelbrock performer x kit. i just have always had a thing for sc's though. plus, i work and hang out in areas where people see a a hint of high engine moding and your cars gone.

I am thinking of getting the Endyn supercharger on my Y8. Its the most complete package ive seen. I am not sure about many companies that make them though, besides the big boys like Jackson and Vortech. Can someone recommend any others. Here is a like the the Endyn superchargers description.

http://www.theoldone.com/sc/faq.html

AND NO I WILL NOT NOR HAVE ANY INTEREST IN GETTING SWAP OR A TURBO KIT, SO PLEASE ONLY COMMENT ON THE TOPIC!
it's a piece of s**t.... as are ALL s/c setups for d-series engines.....
it's a waste of money and you'll see very very very small gains for the money you spend....
it's one of the WORST mods for hp per dollar spent on d-series engines.....
you're an idiot for not considering other options....

your power is overwealming
the answer is that kit sucks AS DO ALL s/c kits for d series engines.... that's the truth, but you're taking the idiotic route and completely dismissing all other options. if you really do decided to go with a s/c you'll find out that i'm right.... eventually.

idiots shouldnt be allowed to mod cars... you make f&f look wise son.

popnfresh is right.....hp per dollar spent its not the cheapest.....vortech and jackson are the best for import apps...the only good thing about super chargers against turbos especially in california is that SC are smog legal ( carb sticker)

200whp will be a lil diff with SC alone....engine work will be needed and by that time you have spent way to much money on the d series

after pretty extensive research on other boards, websites, etc. i have concluded that you are right in that aspect. Dollar/ hp, a supercharger is not the best investment. it has its pros and cons just like a turbo. i have decided to not go with f/i for now.

im gonna stay n/a and build up my d. my car is a daily driver, and all i really want is "that extra push when the light changes"....for now!

Ive never been a fan of superchargers. Take power to make power = blah.

Unless you only have like 6800rpm to play with like the Nissan Sentra Spec V. But you dont, so go get a swap & turbo.

considering he only has about 400 more rpms to play with, your point is pointless. if he had a v8 then the sc would be a good choice..but if its smaller than an 8 cyl engine, turbo is the way to go.
