Me > everything

haha.

But yea, 1.8's go for cheap in states where they're popular, but not Colorado . I was thinking about calling FM to see if they could hook me up with something, but we'll see.

Well got a few updates...I was an idiot and purchased the wrong side for the headlight intake duct, so once I received it I just went online and bought the other, so I will have both that look like this one. I also got a pair of genuine Mazda clear side markers =)

And here's some examples of the lid installed. Don't worry they will get painted, I'm just waiting on my rear spoiler so I can get them all painted at once =)

Sorry about the iphone pics lol

Overall I'm happy with what I paid for. Yeah they don't fit perfect but oh well, they were super cheap

that sucks, why didn't you just re-route your intake to pull from the pass side? Might look goofy w/2 unless you paint em.

Rerouting the intake is just too much work for a little duct haha. I just bought the other one, and like I said I'll get them both painted with my spoiler once I get it in. I do like the look of one, but mine as well have two haha. If it looks funky I'll take the passenger one off and sell it or use it for track days or something

Haha well thank you sir! I was thinking about getting the signal intake ducts also, but I think that would be a little too overdone, so I should just stick with the headlight ducts. But we'll see, I still have a lot more stuff in store for this little roadster haha.

Thanks! And wait what? lol, whats on page 25?

Few more pics of the side repeaters. These will be my next project. The fender cutting isn't as easy as a Honda is...This is the shape I have to cut out lol.....

The end result...mine will just be clear, not amber.

Luckily I have an exact fit template a guy made, so I'll be using that.

Hopefully I will tackle that project tomorrow

oh haha

Yea its pretty intense, I should get to the sidemarkers today!

So I figured I'll make a mold out of the headlight duct before sending it in for paint, and it came out very well! Don't mind the swirls, thats just leftover gel coat that stuck lol. The original is on the left, mold is on the right. So its a mirror image basically, now I can make parts out of the mold.

So, because no one sells kevlar intake lid covers for the Miata, I figured I'll test out my new mold and make one! It should be fully cured later tonight, I'll throw up pics of it once it's done. That piece is two layers of kevlar and 1 layer of fiberglass for reinforcement.

I put more resin around the edges, so once its cured I can shape it to fit on the Miata once its done. I probably wont rock kevlar ones on my car, I think the contrast will be too crazy against the blue. I may make some carbon fiber ones for me to rock during track, but I still plan on getting the originals painted to match for daily status

wow very cool!

You could always paint the kevlar one and leave the duct bare :D

This is very true ;)
I use to make CF fuel pump covers for Civics, I made a few kevlar intakes, and I also wrapped a few spoon style mirrors for kevlar, then I just forgot about it. But since then, I've acquired much better tools and chemicals for it all, so I figured I'd try it again and it came out pretty well.
