Hondata S300+boost control package:

The S300 can control boost by using a duty cycle controlled output on OBD1 ECU pin A11 with a boost control solenoid to regulate air to the wastegate.

Boost may be fixed, or varied by gear, with two settings which allow for wet/dry, pump/race gas or street tire/slicks settings to be selected with an external switch.

The ECU produces a square wave at a fixed frequency and variable duty cycle. Applied to a solenoid, the impedance of the solenoid results in a linear motion of the solenoid valve orifice.

The wastegate is normally connected so that manifold pressure acts on a diaphragm, so opening an exhaust bleed valve (the wastegate) at a certain manifold pressure. With a boost controller, additional air pressure is used on the other side ('the top') of the diaphragm, so that more manifold pressure is needed to open the wastegate - so the engine makes more boost. By varying the amount of air pressure on the 'top' side of the diaphragm with the solenoid, the ECU can control boost.

Because the solenoid can only add air pressure to hold the wastegate shut, the minimum boost is determined by the wastegate spring pressure. Therefore you need to run a spring which gives the minimum boost you want. The maximum boost is determined by many factors, but generally will be 2-4 times that of the minimum pressure.
i hope u copied and pasted that...:D

Why of course!

anything new?
Nothing really, Drove it a little bit on the highway... definitely seems to rip, havn't even touched the high boost (17psi) setting yet haha.

One issue though... twice it cut out power at 10psi for some reason... not sure what the issue was though.. tried datalogging it but then the car just decided to run like a champ! :thumbs up

Basically waiting for my bumpers to be painted. Don't really have money for much of anything in the way of bling parts. I have some ideas... but we'll see where things go... Spring is here so now I can drive it, woo!!

Video soon maybe if I borrow a camera...

As if I had my 1 bar map hooked up again. Fell on it's face. contacted my tuner and said it could be the VSS which makes it think the launch control is on and cuts the boost, or it could be reaching the set overheating protection temp of 220... or maybe just a glitch. I'm going to keep checking it while I drive it and see if it occurs again.. then try to recreate the conditions and get it datalogged to analyze the problem.

I'm hoping it was just a hiccup in the system or something... I'm not in the mood for more problems!

UPDATE:

Thank you kindly sir... it's come a long way that's for sure. I definitely owe it ALL to my dad for his support, help, encouragement and money he's pitched in.

What's wrong with your plates?
Technically he pulled me over for speeding.. which I don't think I was.. so he was nice and said he would just give me a warning for my license plate border instead of a ticket. Supposedly they are illegal In NJ... even though I don't live there and was just passing through... :what:
It's one of these:

Oh, dude I heard they just recently became illegal everywhere. I know any licence plate covers were illegal before, but now they just made even frames illegal alltogether.

hahaha yea man they are illegal. they are especially illegal if you have plastic over the plate but under the frame. its also illegal to have air fresheners on your rear views. i got pulled over for tint, speeding (109 on the GSP!!!!! it was dumb and i got a long talk and my FOP card revoked), my radio being to loud, exhaust, street race look out, no seat belts and my favorite, have a case of beer unopened in the front seat. they will get you for anything. especially when your young in a civic of all cars lol

*knocks on wood*
You bastard, you jinxed me haha.

Boost isn't working right... seems as though my switch for high/low boost settings stopped working. Also boost is not being regulated at 10psi or 17psi for low/high as it should be. Going to be checking into the wiring/ground for the switch as well as checking it on a laptop with datalogging to check for function. Perhaps my solenoid took a s**t.... great just when I thought I was done dumping money into this build for awhile..
