Worrrrd.

i must admit it looks pretty badass...
Thank you sir ;)

Got my new head unit in today! It's a 88$ special from Wal-Mart but the reviews were pretty good, the only bad thing I heard is if you listen to radio, forget it. This thing has the worst radio reception ever, which is fine with me because all I use is CD/iPod haha.

I decided to spend money on something I can enjoy actually lol. I enjoy the parts on my car, but when I drive this thing every day I need music, and my old school Kenwood wasn't doing the job. I'll do a review of this on my blog later after I install it if anyone is interested, but for the money I'll be happy with anything.

The brand is XOvision, which I've never heard of haha. But the reviews said the player gives amazing sound, but I'll do a full review on it a bit later after installation, and let you know if I recommend it :P

Haha word, well I just finished the installation, I actually really like it! And I don't really think I'll be using this thing for video but oh well haha.

Well I was installing the CD player, and I knew my Miata had rear speakers (Miata's don't come with them, this was a DIY to the MAX) Anyways, I knew my interference was always horrid, so I took a look at the wiring. Every singe wire, ground and power, etc to the speakers, battery, etc were wrapped in masking tape...so I said wtf? I felt them, and yeah, no connector or anything.

Here was the wiring hell and DIY rear speakers..

Yup, masking tape. There was also tweaters behind my seats...I'm sure they do a lot for me being behind me and all..

And this was what was under the masking tape....

So, I brought out my connectors and electrical tape, and re-did every speaker and tweater wire there is in the car..here's the end result for the rear.

And the stereo!

It's definitely colorful lol, but I like it. After I fixed all the wiring problems, this thing sounds SOOOOO much better than the old one. I love this thing so far, I'll be doing an on the road test in a minute on my way down to the car wash haha.

Hard top looks great. So does the fuel lid cover.

I think every time you update your thread with something new, I go to craigslist and check the new listings for Miatas......

Lookin good man, for $80 can't beat that, and i wish i had rears, the bose sound decent tho.

BTW got the wheels lastnight I love how they look w/the sport brakes

Also get this, go to a garage of a local miata acquaintance lastnight, holy f**k.....

We walk in his garage:
*His racing miata semi-parted out
*a mazda 323 1980-something AWD 2.0L turbo hatch looking very clean he got it for 2k
*parts scattered EVERYWHERE including back up engine for the 323, turbo's laying around everywhere
*and a Nissan 350Z gauge, we ask what's that for? He says his miata, um ok
*then we notice a complete VQ35 sitting in the corner w/tranny etc.
*then a diesel turbo sitting in his cupboard that will make it's way to the VQ35
