I try not to do that on a daily basis. Dying is dying no matter what car I'm in.

holy crap i just spent a good chunk of my day reading this thread word for word..... i am impressed
Thanks for looking guys. Here is today's progress. I had to keep going on it or else this project won't be done for the Spring IA meet. But I'm looking good so far. Today I took apart the wiper arm assembly apart and sand blasted and primed and painted it.

And the thing that took me the longest(or felt the longest in my head since I let the primer on the hood dry for like a month or so) I had to wet sand it since it just kept wanted to keep clogging my paper. (Also I know that water isn't good for viewing whether something is straight or not, but I looked at it before this thing is beautiful. The water shows you a little more of what if looks like.)

This is Alabama, there are no emissions, no inspection, no nothing. Whatever engine you want to run you can. And it's really laxed since its the south. Even cops think it's cool. I got a plate just as easily as any other car. You can just call the DMV and they can tell you what you need.
Also I may get my paint tomorrow and paint the jams for the doors themselves. I'm gonna paint everything at once instead of masking and then jamming stuff all out. I'll take the risk because I'm sure there won't be any variance of color.

I got my paint today. I spent about $1100 on my paint, sealer, clear, activators and some scuff pads. The dupont Chromabase alone was $530 for just the color. But dang it looks really good. I may paint the back sides of the door this weekend. Lots of body work I hope and some paint pics. I just need to finish it all.

Well I didn't really get much visual stuff done this weekend. I worked on my friends Ctr mirrors and got all those painted and did some body work on the passenger door. It had been primed forever it just needed blocking, turned out it needed some filler here and there which was mostly just filling in the stamp marks and little stuff.
I didn't even finish on working on my door. You'll notice that one of the mirror shells aren't there. I had some problems with fish eyes on 3 of the parts especially. I may have gotten some hardcore grease from the back of the door handles on the mirror bases because it was some gnarly fish eyes at that. The right mirror shell f'd up hard. The valueshade itself made some edges where the factory paint had been sanded down to the plastic lift. Upon cleaning it with thinner it made all the factory paint lift. The bases didn't do any of this, which is great because I cleaned them up and could re seal and paint them. Here are some pics. I hope I can get the backs of the doors painted this weekend. Here's some color.
