That's the first thing I saw this morning when I walked into the office at Sohcclubkid's employer :/ I turned in a resume anyway, and he put his name on it as a reference. I think I thanked him like 5 times lol but yea, now it's a waiting game, just like every other place I've applied :/

At a privately owned shop, building engines and basic repairs too, but mostly I'll be building engines ^_^
I know I said I don't want to turn wrenches full time, but, if this guy follows through on what he told me, I'll be more than happy to turn wrenches until I find a 9 to 5 with benefits

Today kicks so much ass, I could care less that it's about to storm like hell outside, my "storm clouds" have blown over ;D

Ok, thought I'd post up a lil update since I'm stick in a corner temporarily...
I got all my parts in, and since yesterday was lil mans birthday, I put the build off til today...
Big mistake. As it happens, I've made multiple orders for customers cars from the company I got my gasket set from, and I've never had a problem...
Naturally, when the parts are for my personal vehicle, and I'm pressed for time, they would muck up my order :banghead:
I didn't notice right away either. At first glance, I was stoked, they claimed they didn't have a MLS head gasket for the D15B7, only graphite (I HATE graphite gaskets btw.) So I said screw it, ordered the set anyway, and got a Y8 hg from honda...
When the set came in, it had a MLS hg in it, hells yea! Saved me $32, the Y8 gasket can go back to Honda, score!
Everything was going smooth Friday, got the hg installed, torqued, did the rear main and holder, pulled the oil pan, cleaned it all up, opted not to replace the pick up tube seal (i have it for later if it becomes an issue) cleaned everything up, installed the oil pan gasket, torqued it, called it a day.
Lil man finally went to sleep around 2 am, so I pulled the crank gear and timing belt guide, cleaned all that stuff up, and replaced the front main/oil pump seal. Put on the timing belt guide, and a lil anti seize on the crank, followed by the crank gear. I was gonna install the cam and rockers at this point, but I was getting tired and didn't wanna over look anything, so I went to sleep.
Got up this morning and just couldn't get motivated. I picked up the house a lil bit, fed the lil man, and my Aunt stopped by (the one from Huntsville for a visit) and left me with a nice lil present
I was more than motivated at this point, so I packed lil man in his jogging stroller, and we ran to the corner store for amps and smokes. Came back ready to go to work, and that's when the s**t hit the fan. I went looking through the gasket set for the rocker arm seals (if you've ever built a d15b7, you know what I'm talking about) and they weren't there. F.M.L.
Upon further inspection, I realized they sent me a D16Z6 gasket set :banghead:
The 5 valve cover grommets were the dead give away once I realized the rocker seals were missing. The B7 only uses 4, and they're 2 different sizes opposed to the Z6 using 5 small ones.
My wife was supposed to be at work til after 8, I told her what's going on, and she's gonna try to get home in time for me to make it to advance auto parts, and hopefully I won't have to go to autozone...
That's my weekend, sorry for being so long winded, this forum is my only escape these days, ballin on a budget is boring, but at least the lights are on lol

As my father used to say: "Boy, that ain't nothin but a temporary solution to a permanent problem" which I totally agree with, but if it'll last til the company I got my gasket set from gets their s**t together, then I'm only out 12 bucks, which, I'm gonna try to get a partial refund for my time and cash out of pocket. I'm not holding my breath though. Anyway, on to building.

Welp, one of the punk ass kids in this ghetto ass apt complex decided to steal my hard line (the tube that runs between the water pump and thermostat) so, the build thread is dead, again. Depending on when I get out of work tomorrow, I'm hopefully going to make it to p.a.p. In time to grab another one, along with the thermostat housing and sensors that go on it (I just unbolted the thermostat housing and pulled the whole thing off as an assembly)
Oh, and to top it all off, they set my portch on fire before they ran off with my s**t.
I come home from walmart after going on a diaper run, and that's what I find waiting for me. Little bastards.

Sooo... As it turns out, the guy who hired me to work at his shop in palm bay may or may not be full of s**t :/ I'll explain: I woke up with this feeling in the pit of my stomach, you know, the one that tells you somethings not right. Welp, I didn't really know what to think of it, so I ignored it, are a bowl of cereal, watched the news, blah blah blah. 7:30 rolls around, and I decide to text the guy "Hey (his name) it's Tim, is it to early to call you?" And this is what he says back to me, copied and pasted verbatim " Theecanicame back for today his goin to finish my car but i let u lnow by tomoro" Really dude? Guess my gut was telling me not to waste my gas :/ The search for work continues. I knew it was too good to be true
