Well i cut out the back of my cab again so i can redo some things on it that i didnt like.

Then i picked up my brand new alternator that i ordered to make those of you happy that have been bitching about my ugly alternator...

This is what i started out with on the rear cab wall.

Cut out some pieces for the rear to tie everything together...

It gets dark too early and my pictures suck at night...

Hopefully get some more done on this in the next couple days.

That's pretty sick man. I hope to get that involved in a build some day. Maybe when I head back south again.

I dont suggest it unless you have lots of time and money and the right tools.

I have none of these...

Which is why I said maybe when I get south LOL.. My biggest thing here is that I only have 3 solid months of weather where you can be outside working (daylight/cold). So, time is my enemy. I have a garage, but I don't want to hog up a garage forever through the winter (unless what ever is in it can roll under it's own power). But even so, I wouldn't mind having a project that could last for over a year and just really make it my own like what you have here. But... I can't live in Alaska and do that unless I have a much bigger indoor storage unit of some sort. Cool to see what you have going on here man.

It would definitely be nice if i could roll this truck around.

After i redo my cab floor then i will be able to air it up and be able to move it around.

This has been way more than a one year project. Im both glad and disgusted that it has taken so long but i do think it is going to be one of a kind when its done.

Well spent a good portion of the day on my back cab wall.

Tacked together and in place.

And the process begins...

Cut some filler pieces...

The 4runner hatch hangs out too far so i have to trim and fill this section.

Cut out and trimmed.

Filler piece tacked into place.

Now just gotta finish welding this b***h up.

Wow looks really good! I'm assuming the tacks are temporary and you'll go back and do a full bead?

Nope. The tacks are all this is gonna get.

When you weld sheetmetal you have to be careful about how much heat you apply to the metal or you will warp the ever living s**t out of it.

To keep it from warping you need to tack weld(stitch) around the whole piece not concentrating too much heat in one area.

It takes forever, but its the way it has to be done. Eventually all of the holes will be filled and if you do it right then nobody will ever be able to tell it was stitch welded.

Plus it will be ground down and body worked in the end anyway.
