Okay, that makes sense. I didn't think of the rhd part, I've been looking at chase aye harnesses on they're website, and to ensure it goes as smooth as possible, I'm going to fork out the cash for it, and an exedy stage 1 clutch. Plus regular tune parts. I don't want to do any wiring if I have to, and I'll problably follow your lead and re-loom my headlight harnesses when I do the swap for a headlight tuck. I want my bay to look like child's white coupe when I'm done! Lol.

I would recommend Rywire or Wireworx if you are looking into a harness. They all make basically the same thing, but I've heard a bunch of stories about Chasebays taking months to get peoples harnesses done or not doing them at all. Other that that, it sounds like a good plan. I really like exedy stage 1. It is firmer than stock for sure, but no so firm that its annoying to drive. :thumbs up

Really? I have always read good things about their harnesses.. Especially in that I looked at rywire also, and their harness only seems to have obd1 connectors available. If not for that I would have been sold since its 150$ cheaper.

Stuff like this and numerous other stories are enough for me to not be interested.

If you call rywire, they might be able to make one with obd2 connections. Otherwise, you could run a jumper harness. Not sure the price of chasebays/rywire, but wire worx will do obd2 connectors.

Thanks a lot man, I really appreciate the info, and I will not be going to chase bays now for a harness. I'm just gonna keep shopping and problably go with the one of the 2 you recommended. :thumbs up
Thanks dood!

Okay, I've been researching a ton! I've come down to 2 options and still have questions about each so if anyone has any knowledge toward the solutions they would be willing to input I would be very greatful.
1. Get complete sir2 96-98 changeover swap from Hmotors, order rywire harness with obd1 ecu, run the obd1 p30 ecu on swap.
2. Complete swap, get the rywire harness, get obd1-obd2a jumper harness and run the p2t 96-98 ecu.

My questions are that, will I not be able to use the ob2a CEL scanner with either of these options?
Which swap would be the easiest and best as far as a daily driven application?
Is there an option to retain using the obd2 CEL reading port?

I know everyone says to research, and I plan on continueing to do so. The swap won't be untill spring but I want to be 100% prepared to do so. Thank you in advance for your input regarding my questions.

You need to run the obd 2 setup to use the cel port....you can always use the 2 pin connector in the passenger foot well and count cel light flashes like an obd 1 car.

The swaps would be equally easy, but id suggest the obd 1 setup for future tuning, less things to cause cels, and the more aggressive jdm p30 ecu.

Sure thing man.

I agree with CHILD. I think option 1 is best. The only thing to consider with that setup is if it will pass inspection running an OBD1 ecu in North Carolina. Option 1 would also be cheaper since you would be buying the OBD1 swap instead of the OBD2 swap ($100) and you wouldn't need the jumper harness ($90).

Bingo, its my DD and it has to pass emissions. I used to know a guy for that, but its been so long I don't know if he'd do me the favor anymore.

Me too! Now to save that money! Now that I learned to install an emblem this motor swap business is gonna be cake!!!
Lol in all seriousness though, it is basically bolt it in and turn it over. I used to be intimidated by the idea of a swap, but once I did it, I realized how easy it is.

I still haven't done a swap but I'm kinda intimidated as well. When I get around to doing it ill research a ton and be fine.

I'm not worries about the physical swap, I just hate he idea of getti g stuck cause I needed an adapter or sensor and have to special order it and its on back order and it takes months!!!!!! But that's my own worse case scenario.

Went to the salvage yard near my house, and picked up these bad boys!!!

97 civic ex front lower control arms, I'm gonna clean them up, bead blast them, and paint them, then install my energy suspension urethane bushings. I'm planning on running a stock ex front sway bar and an civic/integra rear sway, tinkering with these will deffinately give me something to do whe I wait for more cash flow! I'm stoked man!
