Hey guys! Its finals week right now so I'm pretty busy studying. I get home Wednesday so then the updates should start.
This is where I was last week...
Michigan International Speedway for FSAE competition. We missed two of the events basically because our car was too loud and still finished 13th out of 120 international teams. It was so much fun!
I sent some parts to Alex to get powder coated. Thanks again man!
I gave some stuff a fresh coat of paint.
I swapped out the disgusting aftermarket FUCA with a busted ball joint for a fresh one.
I got started working on the engine harness.
I installed my HASports.
When I was removing the clutch/flywheel from my engine, one of the pressure plate bolts became cross-threaded somehow. I took it to the machine shop today and had the holes re-tapped.
Some of you may not even remember, but I've got CTR front and rear sway bars and CTR FLCAs waiting to be installed. I figured since I would be needing an alignment anyway, I might as well get the bushings in and install the control arms now.
The only issue is that I can't get the shock fork bushings in the whole way. Any suggestions?
I started to assemble my springs and dampers.
One thing that is disappointing about the Konis is the quality of the paint. It seems very cheaply done and flakes off super easily. For example, when adjusting the spring perch location to a notch lower, it can be seen that the dampers were painted with the ring in place. To combat rust, I soaked the end of a q-tip in clear paint and dabbed it in the area without paint.
As far as I could get them assembled today.
I finally sold my long block today and I've been working a lot since I got home, so I've got some cashed saved up. I might be headed to pick up a new long block this weekend, but only time will tell. I'll keep you guys updated.
Oh, also. Does anyone have spare civic shocks laying around that they could sell me the following piece off of?
I need the one preferably without the brake-line bracket, but will gladly take either. Any help is greatly appreciated because I can't find the Honda part number for it.
