I hadn't checked this thread before because I'm not much of a minitruck guy. I do consider myself a car enthusiest, but that doesn't mean I necessarily enjoy every vehicle ever made. With that being said, it's great to see someone attempt (and suceed) in custom fabricating their ride. I don't have much experience (or equipment) for fabricating, but might try some small projects soon, if nothing else to get some experience. If it f***s up, oh well. That's just another learning experience.
I say keep this thread going, and if not many people are viewing it, who cares? The ones who ARE following it are enjoying the hell out of it.

I stick to this site for maybe 8 builds. This is one of those 8 I check almost everytime I'm on here. I could never do this, but I look to it as inspiration and once it's done and all over the internet, I can say, "Oh that's Chris' truck. He put his heart and soul into that thing. Great project by any measure."

I want to learn to weld on my own, but I've always been afraid to since I've seen people who "know" how to weld doin really stupid/dangerous stuff lol. I guess I would be all on my own. Definitely super useful though for hobbies, work, etc. and if you are good you can save yourself a lot of money or make a lot of money. :thumbs up

Live and learn. Ive burnt myself really good a few times and shocked myself also.

Best thing to do is buy a welder and get some welding videos and s**t and buy some metal and mess around.

I dont suggest just hopping in and building a truck without any knowledge(like i did).

You will end up redoing lots of stuff(like i did).

Clean material and perfect prep work will guarantee strong welds. And if its an ugly weld, then it isnt strong.

And normally a beautiful weld is super strong. You just need to keep an eye on your puddle and make sure your penetration marks follow. Preheating also helps!
