Looking great man! I've wanted to do that for the longest time, but just haven't bitten the bullet yet. Last time I took out my rear seats, the inside was disgustingly dirty. Maybe when I see the final result of yours, I'll convince myself to do it.
Heck yeah while I'm working on it I just imagine how freaking cool its gonna look when its got a fresh coat of paint down and its super clean with my corbeau fx1 bucket and the harness installed....
Sooo racecar bro. :rolf:

a wire wheel or something along those lines would really help with the tar and prepping for paint
We Sir, are on the same page :thumbs up I still have 2 or 3 fresh cup brushes and my 90* air angle grinder i used to clean up my lower front control arms earlier this year. I'm gonna use it to get the tar out of the seam sealer that's still pretty caked on around the grommets and edges of the trunk area, I just want to scuff the existing paint and grey sealer/primer underneath, a cup brush won't strip it to bare metal will it?

if you can get an attachment for the die grinder and use the green 3m discs or a sand paper like one that would be a better bet, my experiences so far with a wire wheel and paint is it gets to bare metal real quick. its nice for when you need to remove paint to weld. so i personally wouldnt recommend it

Okay, sounds good! I'll just have to rely on my 3m pads, acetone, and elbow grease lol.

heres the description:
Flex Seal is a rubberized leak sealer that seeps into cracks and holes to seal out air and moisture. When dry, Flex Seal is a long-lasting, watertight, paintable, flexible rubber coating that won't sag, drip, crack or peel. Flex Seal stops leaks fast and is the easy way to coat, seal and protect almost anything

would kinda be like putting underbody coating inside the hatch area, which I want to use the flex seal in my wheel wells too.

I thought that stuff was Kool, it would make an awesome underbody liner!

Okay people, I really need ideas so please chime in if you have any suggestions, I tucked my hatch release cable in the driver quarter panel, easy as crap, no brainer....

Now, for the question at hand, does anyone know where I can stuff that single loom that clips into the tail light harnesses across the back? I don't have the trim peice that goes in the center over where the tail gate latch is, so this wire loom is exposed, the holes in the body don't go all the way through the panel either.

Thanks guys in advanced!

I went to O'Riely's auto parts and they scanned my paint color on my hood with a paint match device that calculated a match formula to mix it. Then I came by the next day before work and picked it up. Its kind of expensive though, I got three cans of clear and three of color for 78$, but he cut me a deal for some reason he was a really cool old dude lol
Thanks man! I'll have to check it out. =)

Sweet dood! Hope you find what your looking for!

I thought about the loom issue at work, and thought back in child's thread where he cut a small square out of the fender frame when he did his headlight loom tuck, so I think that's what I'm gonna do with a dremel, it will be behind the interior quarter panels when I re install them. I'll post pics of how I do it when I get to that point, almost have the tar up and the rear spic and span! Hopefully pics 2mrw!

Yeah, no kidding. I used 3m undercoating for my rear wheel wells and it was around that price. Should be worth it though! :thumbs up

Heat gun and a paint scraper, it was way easier than I thought! The tuff part is scrubbing up the left over tar residue, I'm re scraping the areas again without heat to get the little left overs untill there is just the light brown tar film, then taking a scotch bright pad and acetone to scrub it off the rest. It takes a little paint up with it, but I just dust duplicolor etching primer over those areas untill the final scuff and wipe down.

Well I've been riding to work with my brother this week, but his thermostat went out on the way to work today, so it looks like I'm taking today off and finishing up this project! Gonna have it painted by Saturday!
