Do we get to include the price of specialty tools that was used in our build?

i have a d15b swap currently in my 00 civic as temporary bc my y8 spun a rod bearing bc the previous owner ran dry with a huge leak. oh well. and plenty other stuff. now i'm looking into stroking a b16a sir2 with jun head pkg, and of course clutch, flywheel, intake, header, IM, exhaust, ignition. and finally my bodywork/cosmetic: paint job, bucket, harness, te37 w/s.drive, steering wheel w/quick release.

Most peoples answers will just be "thousands".

Most people that build Hondas don't like to think about how much money they've spent.
i build my honda day and night and i like to keep track of how much i spent. oh well you said "most people"

Paid $2300 for the car in June.

I think I put less than $500 into it.

So I'm gonna say $2700 is my total investment so far.

$4,000 for purchase of civic (bone stock with a stock JDM engine)

$2,000 for two HA engine replacements after JDM threw a rod through the block.

$2,500 in upgrades (at least)

$2,000 in maintenance replacements.

Total: about $10,500 in a 1997 Honda Civic.

Also needs another engine.

I'm at $12,350 just in my K24 swap =) Doesn't bother me one bit because my overall goal is to have essentially a brand new car. I won't break the original retail value when it's running and looking the way I want, so it's just like buying a brand new car except it's made exactly the way I want it

This is the best way to look at it IMO. If the money is spent the right way and you end up with what amounts to a new car, plus being exactly how you want it, there is nothing better and no better feeling.

Stock? From the dealer? You do know I sell Audi parts too? I can get you a pretty good discount unless you already have an inside hook up. Send me a PM with details and vin if you need anything OEM.
