Not sure, when I switched from my mini-me to my LS motor I lost vtec. But I kept my stock y7 harness the entire time, so it became a mess lol.

I used my y7 on my ls also and just had to change to a 2 wire crank I think. But to go to a y8 I'm pretty sure it's all the same but add a vtec wire if you want it to work and extend one sensor on intake manifold. I could be wrong though, it's been awhile

Well that was a game. Sloppy, but exciting.
Only because Porsche is owned by VW.

Oh, speaking of VW...haaaaaaaaaaaayyyy
Ain't nothing wrong with a vette.
Mucho want. Or at least the powerplant of one.
Vettes are only good if you like driving in a straight line. Even then, no. My best friend's dad had a Z06, traded it in for a BMW M3, says he'll never go back.

Porsches are the s***! If I could ever afford one... that would be my track car in a HEARTBEAT.

What!? If he's getting a Boxster I would make fun of it being an old man/mid life crisis car. But other than that, they're the s**.
Porsches in general are just.. eh... I'd love a 911 GT4, GT3 or GTS or something, but that's about it. The Cayennes are awesome little SUVs. But Boxters, get the f**k out. No. Just no.

I have more customers that are middle aged than old. There are many younger guys driving these than one would think. Hell I have customers that are younger than you are.

There are more women driving Boxsters in this area compared to men. At least as far as our customers go. Caymans are more popular among men. The 981 (2013+) Cayman is a hell of a car. I would still take a 991 in a heartbeat but don't knock the new Boxster/Cayman line until you drive one.

As a daily first hand experience, I would NEVER own a 944, 928, 924, first gen boxster, first gen Cayenne, or a 996. The 80's models that I mentioned are all junk unless you find a very clean low mileage one and even then parts are discontinued all over the place. Getting really hard to find OEM parts for the 944's. First gen boxsters and Cayennes are junk and 90% of them are beat to s***. Tons of problems.

I would take anything in their line 997 and up. The 991 is a hell of a car and the PDK transmission in the latest generations is an absolutely amazing transmission. Hands down the 2014 Turbo S 991 is the fastest car I have ever driven. Scared the s*** out of me.
Yeah I'm sure old and young people love them. I don't though haha.

Ordered a good amount of parts for the jeep today, this should be a quick build, I can't believe how cheap parts are. I bought new 15x8 wheels for 200 bucks

Also learned progress was made from the accident. Cars picked up and bein looked at finally

Dude right!? Jeep parts are crazy cheap in comparison. My roommate used to have a 2-door Cherokee. He rebuilt the driveshaft for like.. $150. They run forever, too. Great vehicles!

Today is dragging ass already. Glad for a three-day weekend.

Boxters are the Honda Civics of Porsche. Kinda the way Maserati made a cheaper entry level sedan. Just a way to get your name out there to as many people as you can.

Vettes are absolutely spectacular when it comes to donating LS power plants to late 80's / early 90's Jap flip up headlight drift machines :D But at this point, you can find an LS1 anywhere for a few grand, so meh.

Why I love IT:

Quick back story:
Dude tells me wired Ethernet connection inactive, traced back to bad port on a switch, moved to know good port, everything works.
Today, large meeting with same dude, Boeing, and FAA; need to use Ethernet connection for presentation on modules being built and shipped.

PissedOffDude: "John, wtf, the connection isn't working. You said you fixed it and you didn't. Now I don't have a connection for this meeting that started 20 minutes ago!"
Ain'tFuckingCareFace: "When did it stop working?
PissedOffDude: "I dunno, like a week ago?:
WhatTheFuckFace: "You didn't think to bring this to my attention when it stopped working?"
EvenMorePissedOffNowDude: "It wasn't important then, it's important now. I need this to work! What's our Guest WiFi password?!"
Ain'tCareFace: "That's kinda silly, huh? And our Guest WiFi is for guests, has no network access."
AbsolutelyNuclearPissedDude: "I need this f**king thing up now!"
OkayI'llHelpFace: "Actually, it's lunch time. I'll be back in 20."
PissedDudeGonnaTeachMeALesson: "Eli is going to throw your ass to the wolves, consider yourself fired."

*Back from lunch 30 minutes later*

Eli(Boss): "John, what the f**k, why is there no network connection in the conference room for our meeting?"
SippingMyDrinkLikeABauss: "Cuz Stu is a shithead and likely in a violent rage unplugged that switch right there and took the network down."

*Walked away to my desk*

*In the hall by the conference room I hear Eli to Stu: "Plug the f**king switch in you idiot!"*

I work for a wonderful group of guys and the owner loves me .

I honestly wish I was more educated on the different Porsche's. There's so many! I've heard the new Boxster's are pretty kick ass. The old ones are the ones that suck imo. My friend worked for Barrier Porsche for a while, now he just got a job at Chris's Auto in Bellevue (a killer independent Porsche shop).

A family friend used to race an old 911. He found out I got into cars and he jumped on that. He's been trying to get me out of the Civic and into a Porsche for years  If I can find a picture of his I'll post it on here. He used to daily his track car too. But he's been trying to get me on the track ever since.

Anyway, Greg do you think you can afford a GT3? Aren't those things crazy expensive?

Well it would probably be a gt2 Id I did that and I've come across some for 80-90. Id have about 40k down, and I right now make double student loan and car payments with money to spare. So I'm paying around 700 a month in car payments alone. I'm confident I could

But I'm in no rush. Ill keep messing with the s4 and saving for an is300 to daily. Probably will wait till I get school paid off before I get dead serious about the Porsche and I'll make significantly more money then

I found a ls swapped rwb though and I love it, I'd really enjoy that. I'm not a fan of technology in cars, I like actually driving the car and no just steering the wheel

Set up an appointment to get my ignition in the Malibu switched out for free since it was part of that whole GM recall. Got new tires for it and set up an appointment for next week to check my breaklines and change out the wheel cylinder with my Honda guy.

A quick eBay look gave me GT3's in the range of $150-360k, GT2's in the 80-150k area depending on year/miles

so my neighbor in Miami with his GT3 RS, MP4-12C Spyder, Panamera Turbo, S4, 911 Turbo, and Cayenne has some money to lend for my swap, damn
