    Overheating.

:welcome: Make sure to properly bleed the coolant system. Leaving any trapped air in the system can cause the symptoms you're describing.

What are you doing / did you do today / CHAT THREAD

Was supposed to go to Watkins Glen on Saturday to run the track. Ice storm. Still have my winter tires on, but didn't go. Stayed at home and played Fortnite instead lol. Been trading a lot of beer lately. Brought back $100+ of beer from Portland, and sold / traded it here locally within 10...

It's pretty much still winter here. Watkins Glen opening day is tomorrow. The high temp is 40 and up to 1/2" of ice.... winter tires are still on.

    Hard Start Up

Yeah, definitely get those CEL codes. Since the CEL has been on prior to you receiving the car, it's possible additional codes have shown up since. If you have a smart phone, I recommend getting one of those ODB2 plugs. It connects to your phone and allows you to pull / reset codes, and check...

    Y8 head on Y7 block

As previously stated: If you have a USDM SI head, IT WILL NOT FIT to the DX block. Ever. Not compatible. Not going to happen. EVER. If you have a Candadian Si head, this is actually the same as a USDM EX head. This would be compatible. USA Si head: B16A2 CANADA Si head: D16Y8 Because you...

    Hard Start Up

CEL codes are important. I would refrain from further troubleshooting until you get those codes. The fact that you have a JDM motor is a pretty big mod. Was the CEL on when you first got the car? Have you always had the start-up issues, or just recently? When it fires up and starts running, does...

    Questions and upgrades

Perfect. Budget! So you have your power goal, your budget, and a plan! A B18 is certainly doable for 4k. Stock, you'll be spending much less, maybe even half your budget. This is not counting potential future turbo, but as you mention, a better job and more money can make that happen...

    Hard Start Up

Looks good! Welcome back to ClubCivic! Is the CEL on? If not, can you confirm that the CEL works when you first turn the key? Any engine or under the hood modifications we should know about?

Locking this thread until I can go through it and clean it up. Will re-open shortly. EDIT: K, re-opened. Wasn't as out of hand as it looked.... @Hook95EG I am going to break down your last post. We understand that. But you need to set an overall budget for your project. It helps us help you...

Can the type R be made less hideous?

My biggest issue with the Type-R is the weird way the fender flares out around the wheel but gets flat when it meets the back doors.

I just got back from Maine. Saw a Type-R get pulled over in Portland. And spent too much $ on beer.

Can the type R be made less hideous?

Here's a pic of the Type-R without a wing. Not sure what else you could really do to tone it down though.
