Yeah, you could just have a Y7 header / cat. Where did you check the VIN at? What's the engine stamp on the block say? D16Y8?

Could be air in the lines. Top off the fluid, bleed the clutch, see if pressure returns. If not, could also be an issue with the master or slave cylinder, etc.
