Haha will do. Hopefully this deal goes through.damn. well let me know. ill start selling trannys to people lol
Exedy actually makes OEM replacement, stage 1, stage 2, and racing clutches. I was going to get either stage 1 or 2 because I don't plan on making a ton of horsepower(at first anyway).Lol exedy stage 1 = OEM Honda clutch. If you do get one, it should be dirt cheap otherwise get something better
Ok so maybe a stage 2? I also had a friend recommend the Competition Clutch stage 4. Anyone had any experience with that clutch? The OEM replacement and stage 1 have the same specs. The stage 1 is usually sold for a higher price for no apparent reason. I would know from buying one with my old b16 swap. just trying to save you a lil money.
my buddy has the competition clutch 4 puck on his dsm, i don't know if that is stage for or not, but i know that the 4 puck is amazing, if you have only drivin on stock style clutches, prepare yourself. the engagement on this thing is immediate, the second you start rolling off, it is engaging, you take your foot off the floor at all and its grabbing, i love it to be honest. its easy for just a pure laziness factor of not having to take your heel off of the floor cause its got like an inch or less of pedal. it also can take an ass whooping when you need it to. personally i would recommend it.Ok so maybe a stage 2? Yeah I think the one you're describing is the stage 5 clutch. My friend strongly recommends the stage 4 and says he is going to change to it (in his K-swapped EM1) as soon as he gets the chance. It just seems like overkill for a lightly modified street car to me.my buddy has the competition clutch 4 puck on his dsm, i don't know if that is stage for or not, but i know that the 4 puck is amazing, if you have only drivin on stock style clutches, prepare yourself. the engagement on this thing is immediate, the second you start rolling off, it is engaging, you take your foot off the floor at all and its grabbing, i love it to be honest. its easy for just a pure laziness factor of not having to take your heel off of the floor cause its got like an inch or less of pedal. it also can take an ass whooping when you need it to. personally i would recommend it.
oh it's overkill by a f**king long shot, and i always ragged on him for getting it saying your not in a race car why bother, but once you are use to it and once i drove it, there was no going back. if you are looking fir something cheaper with less harsher engagement and not as extreme of a clutch i wouldn't recommend it, but if you plan on making some pretty decent horsepower numbers, id recommend it.Yeah I think the one you're describing is the stage 5 clutch. Yeah I think it may be a little to intense for me, I just don't know what to choose.oh it's overkill by a f***ing long shot, and i always ragged on him for getting it saying your not in a race car why bother, but once you are use to it and once i drove it, there was no going back. if you are looking fir something cheaper with less harsher engagement and not as extreme of a clutch i wouldn't recommend it, but if you plan on making some pretty decent horsepower numbers, id recommend it.
What did you think of the Exedy clutch you had in your B16? What kind of torque were you making?Look at the torque specs on the clutches you want and find one that will handle the power you intend to make in the end, so that you don't end up buying more than one clutch.
Thanks! Yeah I definitely want a lightened flywheel to make it rev a little faster.Great build so far!
I have an Exedy OE clutch and Fidanza lightened flywheel on my stock Y8. I love it!
That is basically all I plan to do in the foreseeable future so maybe I will stick with an Exedy stage 1 or 2.It was alright, nothing special. I dyno'd at 111wtq 156whp with just intake, header, and exhaust. don't get me wrong, it worked fine, but I would have needed more with more mods to avoid it"hanging" at high rpm gear changes
Hmmm, so many choices...My K20 has a Stage 2 Comp Clutch / lightweight flywheel. Grabs so fast with little pedal movement. Best purchase I've made
