How did you clean your fuel rail? Great so far BTW!
Thanks man! The answer: Simple Green and a scotch brite pad I "borrowed" from work. How did you clean your fuel rail? Great so far BTW!
Yeah, I realized that after I got it. I was pretty sure it wasn't the right one, but I got it cheap. I'll probably just resell it, not worth the trouble.i don't think that proportioning valve will bolt right up man, you're going to have to re bend your hard lines at least so that they screw on to the valve. The reason i say this is because that does not look like a 6-gen Civic valve.
Seems like a little bit of Simple Green will clean just about anything! lol
Haha that stuff is great.hahaha Simple Green clean anyting
Word. I have Civic just like yours, if you're ever wondering about something regarding that generation, you can always ask. Thanks man! The answer: Simple Green and a scotch brite pad I "borrowed" from work.

Paint it! I don't regret doing it one bit on my old swap. Little details go a long wayHaha that stuff is great.
Any opinions on painting the engine block, head, and trans aluminum color?
That was your old swap?!
Yup yup. My swap looked ten times better than the whole coupe lol. But yeah OP definitely paint it. It leaves a better surface to be cleaned than just pressure washing it.That was your old swap?!

Wow, after seeing pics of your old swap, my mind is made up. How did you prep the surface and what type of paint did you use?Paint it! I don't regret doing it one bit on my old swap. Little details go a long way
For prep i just degreased the block and trans, used some simple green, and i actually painted it the lazy way. I used some high temp engine paint from autozone and just did several dust coats so that it would adhere better. Stood up good against some pressure washings later down the road.Wow, after seeing pics of your old swap, my mind is made up. How did you prep the surface and what type of paint did you use?
Ok sounds good. Did you actually strip everything off the engine or just tape it off?For prep i just degreased the block and trans, used some simple green, and i actually painted it the lazy way. Ok cool. So when you started to paint, it wasn't super clean, there was still some grim on it?i taped off most things, only the big stuff was taken off....big like the header and large brackets. I got overspray on quite a few things, but i hit em with some paint thinner and a paper towel real quick to clean it up. Like i said, i did a really lazy job on it but it turned out okay
In the process of cleaning my trans right now. It was literally black when I got it. Maybe I'll be able to paint it some tomorrow. No dirt clumps on it, but it didn't look all silver and fresh before paint either, especially on my transmission.
