Ok, you win dude. Whatever. To anybody with any sense, its an Ex with all the crap Honda didn't put into the EX since the Si returned in '99. EM1's with B16's are slow enough, this car is only a little worse...

All those are upgrades too dude. Take any car, put a lower powered motor in it, and it sucks worse than it did stock. Take my LX, give me the 8 valve 1.5L, and to me its worse than a stock LX, hell, its worse than a stock CX, because it weighs a s**t load more. Take a car and upgrade motors, like an ITR swap, and its the complete opposite. Think about that the next time you want to be a smartass...

Okay... then if you put an ES2 in your LX... does that make it an Accord?

Changing a motor in a car does not make it a different car. It does not change the chassis or the equipment that make it another trim/model (most cars do not change trims or models strictly by the entire car being the same, sans for the motor and trans).

I'm stating, and I'm sure that everyone will agree with me, that if you take an EM1, and swap the D16Y8 in it, that is far worse than an EX, and obviously worse than an Si. I don't care what you know, but I know that if an EM1 did have the Y8 swapped in it, that would be the total suck. I'd rather have the EX stock than an EM1 with a Y8, or a stock LS Integra over a GSR with a D15B7. Get what I'm saying? Making threads like this to show people what you know is pointless, get a life away from the internet...

More difficult than you'd think actually. I've made the most complete list of engine and chassis codes I can find online. I'm not the only one in the world with it now. I've posted it other places to make sure people know I know a lot about cars too.

She didn't make the thread. She posted in it. She did not post to show that she knew more, she posted to correct misinformation. Misinformation is a cancer on automotive forums. It confuses people that are trying to learn new information. Misinformation is why people put SiR badges and Type R badges on cars that are NOT that car. It's why people call their EJ6 an EK9.

And like she said, just because a motor is replaced does NOT change what the car is. The VIN says it's an Si, the badging says it's an Si, the paint, lip, wheels, spoiler, cluster, seats, cd player and cliamte control that all light up amber .... ALL of these things are proof that it's an Si. The original motor was blown. It was replaced with the cheapest alternative.

Does this make the car slow? Yes.
Does it suck that it happened? Yes.
Does it suck that the kid lied to her? Yes.

Did she indeed buy a Civic Si? YES.

A motor does not make a car.
