Yeah good progress bro. I;d like to see the awd conversion but that stuffs a lot of work and cash, at least it's not ur dd so it's not too much of an inconvenience to have it out of commission. That being said you should definitely do some more research and make sure u get it up and running before you decide to do anything else lol.

I'd really love to get it driving around again soon, maybe go attempt to drift it during the winter. But we'll see how it goes I guess. The build is done for the school year, so nothing until June (after it gets moving again). But there is still little things that need to get done before a conversion.
-exhaust (D exhaust doesn't bolt up to B header)
-lighting issue (pass aux light turns on when supposed to be turn signal)
-power steering hose (part that bolts to pump, I have wrong adapter)
-PS belt
-brakes (rotors and pads are shot, BBK might be in future, buddy has one)

Very true, the little things really count. i do have a little more research to do for sure. and part sourcing. i really really wanna do the awd conversion. i'm hoping to start little after graduation.

parts list:
-crv trans
-driveshaft
-rear axles
-rear diff
-rear trailing arms
-trans mount

fabrication list:
-crv/del sol trailing arms
-mount for rear diff
-cut/weld driveshaft
-weld up rear diff

A buddy of mine suggested doing a mid engine conversion instead, but that requires a lot more work imo. Plus how baddass is it to say my del sol is awd. I don't think I'd trust myself to do good enuf welds for the work, so I might pay a shop to weld the trailing arms and driveshaft tho. Just to be on the safe side.

Yeah that's what I meant about research, if you'd done all that u woulda known the d exhaust wouldn't bolt up, besides why would u intentionally choke your b18 with the needle nick sized d series exhaust. I say go awd just know its hella work and I've heard the crv driveshaft is pretty weak so you'll have to get a lot of stuff custom made if you actually want it to use the power reliably.

I've heard its more the crv axles and rear diff that are the weak parts. more research to do on the awd set up anyway. its not happening for another year at the absolute earliest, and i do plan on getting some of it custom made because i wouldn't want to trust high wear items to something that i'd do myself. like the cut/weld of driveshaft? that'd make or break a car. i wouldn't want to screw it up and then it damage things more.

i did know that i needed a new exhaust from the start. I just don't have the funds for one right now, so i am going to make do with the D one until i can afford to buy a proper B one. no point buying a useless one off eBay just to replace it later. that makes no sense to me. so i'll buy a test pipe so i can at least drive the thing for a bit.

buddy is selling his b16a2 complete swap for a grand. i might be picking that up. rock a ls/vtec, or sell the ls and put in the b16. either way. i just need the funds first.

well buddy sold his b16 swap. damn. oh well didn't need it anyway.

minor work done today. removed rear bumper, removed stubborn battery tray, attached fuse box.

realized that i have to attach shift linkage to engine before putting it in, and i can't do it with the engine going in from the top, so i am lifting the front of the car with the engine hoist (on 2T setting). then sliding the engine under, then dropping the car, and lifting engine with hoist. gonna be a pain.

mounts were supposed to be in already but i'm still waiting for them, hopefully they come this week so i can grab them on the weekend.

Mounts are heeeeeeeeere! Got the mounts friday. Went home to visit parents over the weekend so the car didn't get finished. But when I got home sunday night I spent and hour and finally got the engine back into the bay for the final time during this stage of the build. Hopefully should be ready by next weekend.

Look at that, nice and level and low sitting, now the hood should close.

you and me both. I ran into more issues. go figure.

shift linkage and rear T mount don't line up. apparently i can't use the 99-00 Si rear bracket like i thought, so i'm supposed to use the integra one or the stock del sol one. not entirely sure. but i have both so no biggy. but the shift linkage i ordered is too short. so i'm trying to get the company to take it back and give me store credit or exchange it for something i can use. attempting to try to use B series EF linkages tomorrow night instead of hte B series Del Sol linkages.

Got the rear mount figured out. Used the LS rear mount. Ordered b17 exedy clutch. Started passenger side wire tuck.

stage one is closer to done.

fabricated a clutch cable mount, got wiring figured out, shift stabilizer bar extended, axles are in, axle seals replaced, oil in.

all that's left is getting the clutch cable mount finished so the starter wire can plug back in, rewelding the shift linkage so it doesn't come into contact with the tunnel, putting the rad in, trans fluid, coolant and it'll be driving again.

stage 2: wire tuck headlight harnesses, engine harness tuck, ram horn turbo mani rewelded, one tire has a leak, brake calipers dont have any trace of fluid, buy actual del sol b series linkages

stage 3: boooost (acquire parts, install, get tuned)

Update in case anyone is wondering. It runs and drives on it's own now. Placed my order for OEM b series linkages (extending stock ones didn't work too well). Have a slight issue with tach+speedo not working and not lighting up. But now it should be good to drive once spring comes. It'll be stored in my shed all winter unfortunately.

Anyone know if anything needs to be done to a car to store it during the winter? It's going to be in my shed and it'll be cold but no snow will get on it.

Apparently my shift linkages are in so now I have to find some cash to pay for them. Still waiting on my buddy to buy my other gsr trans.

Selling my 99-00 SiR rear T mount that I don't need and picking up a Walbro fuel pump.

Started collecting parts for my turbo build. Currently I have a ramhorn style manifold, IC, fuel pump, and BOV. IC and BOV I am unsure of the brands on, but they'll work to start with. Long way left to go with collecting parts.

one thing for sure, pull the battery or get a trickle charger for it.

Perfect. I'll make sure I disconnect it. Would it be a good idea to go into the garage once every two weeks or so and start it to move the fluids around a bit?

yea start it and run it for maybe 10 mins about every 2 weeks should be good, also get some sort of gas treatment so the gas will stay at least some what fresher and not foul stuff up by the end of the winter. and you should be good

Awesome. It shall be done. And hopefully can start collecting parts for the next stage of the build.
