and i think it's great that you like running 18 second 1/4's... really i docivicracer97hx said:i would never trade my hx for any neon!!!!!
I'm not hating on it cause it's a dodge. I'm hating on it for a much more specific reason... It's a dodge NEON. Yeah, it's fast as hell, yeah for the price you get a ton of performance. But you must admit, the Neons didn't have a very flattering or trust inspiring production run. Honestly, if 6 years from now no strange problems come up, I'll do a complete 180 on my SRT opinion.Todd said:by no means am i saying that the srt4 is the end all of all cars... it's far far far far from it... but it's a good deal cost wise for the speed you get, and so far there hasnt been any problems with them as a whole..... but people hating on them just because it's a dodge are no better then all the import haters out there
And you're still just driving a CIVICHP Civic 2 said:The srt is a great car, dont get me wrong. But as fast as it is, at the end of the day it's still a NEON.
mang you bite your tonge hard, how could you say that. It's a neon domestic that uses a mitsubishi turbo. They don't even have their own turbo.........you must not be feeling right thats it right?munky said:duh.. but the srt-4 isn't a neon.. it just looks like a neon
i'd trade my civ for an srt-4
that's because mitsubishi makes a kickass turbo. the stage 3 upgrade kit from mopar even uses the the turbo/manifold out of the evo VI. alot of companies and cars use mitsu turbo's.. like all greddy kits use mitsu turbos alsostealthsi009 said:mang you bite your tonge hard, how could you say that. Sport Compact Car said:Then there's the big one: stage3. the big important part of stage 3, of course, is the turbo. since the turbo, wastegate, exhaust manifold and downpipe are all one casting, stage 3 gets to upgrade all of them. the turbo itself is a mitsubishi 15g-k2, the same turbo that came stock in the lancer evo VI, but without the evo's divided exhaust housing. the evo VI, for the record, had the biggest turbo of any stock EVO. the turbo still uses conventional sleeve bearings, but has an exotic, lightweight titanium aluminide turbine wheel for quicker spool up. the downpipe casting is much larger, and the area around the wastegate has been opened up for less disruptive merging of the two exhaust flows. so, still embarrassed to be seen driving a neon? "

Of course it's a Neon...unless you are at the Dodge dealership. The salespeople will swear that it's not. Must have had an internal memo at Daimler Chrysler about that.
