I have a friend like you that runs the toll tag lane with no toll tag. He's also had his truck towed TWICE in Deep Ellum.
let's see, 75 cents for a toll charge or 25 dollars for a fee.
5 dollars for parking or get your s**t towed and pay $125.
And I'm the dumbass for paying $5.00 for parking? At least I still have my extra $120.00

I hate tolls though, i pay an assload of taxes everytime i put in gas, there shouldnt be tolls.
In south africa they have country ass roads you can drive around the tolls with. Plus in some places the tolls work out to be like $6!
f$#% tolls! I paid my full .75 and it still said i owed .10 wtf?!? Maybe they need new counting machines, cause the ones they have now aint cutting it! f$%$^ with me maybe one night Ill drive by with .75 cents worth of pennies let that s**t count it.

Yah, we had a Sunpass for the Polk Parkway down in FL. Much less expensive than that of a fine in the mail.

I don't know about you - but the toll'd highways and bridges around here were not built with your tax dollars.
There is a bridge down the road from me that was built by a neighborhood association to cross over a lake connecting Grand Prairie and Arlington.
And i'm not too sure but I believe the funds to build Tx-161 (Pres. George Bush Turnpike) were donated by a private organization as well.
If it's a public highway/interstate they give is gay names.. like 'Tom Landry Highway' rofl
Either way - it sucks that you thought you would get away with that.
I'll trade you! I've got $770 worth of tickets and warrants to take care of by my birthday (Dec. 9th) or i'll have another warrant.
-One was because I was pulling out of a head shop (bought a pipe) and I was profiled by a cop because I had three other people in the car.. so he thought we were dumb enough to have some pot ON us. He wrote me a ticket for making an illegal right turn (which I didn't make). I told the judge I wasn't paying the ticket because the cop was a f**king liar and wanted to search me for drugs. Contempt of court + Original fine - $255 (turned into warrant) now $400.
-When I totaled my car.. the cops found my pipe (the one I bought above) with a bowl loaded in it.. $250 (didn't haul me in for warrants tho, that was nice of them) and I didn't have my ID on me because I bought cigarettes earlier and left my ID on the f**king counter. $120
We all do stupid s**t.. Just pay the damn toll's next time.
And i'll make sure I smoke my bowl before I total my car. I asked the cop if I could [smoke it]- and he said he had half a mind to run me in for my warrants, so I shut up.
Instead of getting my hands on a set of rims.. I've got to pay the county to pay some fat schlob of a police officer to sit behind an abandoned building and watch people walk in and out of a head shop, profiling customers.
And you have to pay for some douche bag to sit in a tool booth.. haha. Sux

And in regards to the "tax thing" who do you think paid for the city ordinance and to approve such highways? Even if it was privately funded, that maybe in some cases, would be considered a charitable contribution which in equals to tax deductions for the private donater and taxes (our taxes) to maintain the hwy.Wow! here's the deal with tollways... they all start out as what is commonly known as "pay-as-you-go".. that is, a private entity funds, builds, maintains, and upkeeps the highway. they sign a contact witht he government to charge tolls for usage of this tollway usually until they break even and make a certain percentage profit. after that, control of the highway is relinquished and given to the government. during the construction phases, we are all told that we will have to pay the company tolls until this is met. what we are not told is the following...
the government, instead of removing the tolls, sees it as another source of income and keep the tolls in place. nobody sees a difference, since everyone has gotten so used to it being a tollway anyway. so we just keep on paying.
i drove through new jersey once. it was f**king horrible. there is only one internstate running north/south in the state, and it's a tollway. f**king insane. here in indiana i can roam the whole state for free. there's only ONE tollway and it's up north... and even so, there's an alternate interstate you can take that runs pretty much parallel to it.

There really aren't all that many toll roads in the DFW area... most of the highway system you are free to roam wherever, for free...

For those of you who don't know what that is... it's a new high speed highway system that's going to be going in as soon as a construction bidder is found.
3 lanes in each direction with average speed of 90mph, two sepperate lanes in either direction sepperated for truck and frieght only (total of 5 lanes in either direction) and state of the art high speed rail system throughout the whole system.
