I just did a h22 swap on a friends car. If you know what you are doing its not hard at all. The motor was around $1200, tranny from an accord $250, shift linkage $75. Mid-shaft from accord $75 and axles from a ls motor. Wire harness from a civic if you dont have one. HCP motor mounts. Relocation the left motor mount.
In my opinion, if you have tools and the knowledge is a interesting swap. If you dont, go with the gsr, but you will see this h22 pass you by.
you dont need to bang no firewall if you get the right mounts.
My 2 cents

Well in my opinion the b18c5 is the worst thing you could put into your car for the money... h22 is $2,500 cheaper too atleast... and for those it says it weighs so much more... no if you can't don't put ac or power steering then its only going to be about 20-30 lbs. heavier then a b18c5... think about it saving $2,500 theres a turbo... my friends civic with an h22a turbo ran 12.2 at 111 mph... and if identical civics raced one with a b18c5 vs h22a the h22 would own it all day... there's a 30 lbs of torque difference

there's soo many small details about putting in a H22A......and it losing AC (is aight) but power steering.....i'd like my power-house to be a comfortable daily driver. and as far as upgrades......you'll never be done with a type R but for the H22A you're talkin' "custom" parts in a lot of occasions and everyone knows that "custom" really means " CASH"

what custom parts are you talking about?
My friends car handles pretty good. It is still got stock shocks and springs. The stock springs keep the car a pretty good height and the suspension is not hard at all and the steering is pretty good. Its all about how much work you wanna put in.

go gsr bro, and if u have a hatch its even better. i was also thinking h22 but just thinking about the work that needs to be done made me change my mind. i havent bother to actually look up prices for engine mount and suspension parts but i kinda want to to see how much one would actually spend, i would do the work my self also

b18 because it drops in with new mounts and you can keep ac and power steering. h22 sucks because it is heavy so the extra 20 hp isnt worth it you loose it in the weight gain. also you have to smash the f**k out of the engine bay and you loose ac and powersteering

it is possible to keep A/C w/ H22 swap and I'm pretty sure power steering can be spared, for H22 questions PM Civlude, he did his own H22 swap and kept both. If I were you I'd turbo the b18c5, the potential is incredible.

thank you! no0bies were killing me here.

b18c = jdm.
and c1,c5,c7 etc IS NOT JDM. JDM only has the series (b), the litres (1.8 which is id'd as 18) and the identifier (c).. forgot what that stands for but oh well. Simply said, they don't have the letter and identifier.

H22a myths:
You lose power steering
You lose A/C
You can't handle -- suspension setup can and will balance this.

If you're going to go with a b-series, get a b18c1 (usdm teg) block with a jdm/can r/si-r b16 head. The b16 is free-er flowing.

Generally you don't turbo a H22a. Not much market support, and anything over 6psi usually will crack the sleeve and/or throw a rod. NOS applications work VERY well on stock H22's however; I've heard of people pushing 100 shots reliably.

C5 = jdm, although if it says b18c5 on the block it's not really JDM. Refer to my above post.
c1 = teg

The difference is in the IM and TB
