Funny, but wrong. If health care were a right, then everyone would be covered by the Bill. The fact is that many Americans are still not covered.
right its no right.. that is in turn what equates to me paying into a system so someone else without can have... great.. its nice to know that my big fat health insurance premium i NEVER use will go to aid in the care of some section 8 crack head welfare case..whoopy..

You may be right. If so, I wish the medical industry had policed itself so we could have avoided the Bill altogether. But it was not to be so.
people like to smoke its unhealthy.. creating a law banning tobacco would make for a safer healthier country..

raising taxes on cigarettes has not stopped people.. people still smoke.. so why not legislate a law stopping it? because the course of someones life is the right of that person.. for them to decide what is done..

if you micro manage the entire nation through BS legislation you end up with an insane nanny state... one in which your daily life is controlled by the government.. from the food you eat.. to the doctor you use.. this is SUPPOSED to be a land of free choice..

Again, not only the crack head will benefit. You too have the opportunity to benefit, if you wish. And why wouldn't you, since you will be paying the premiums/taxes anyway?

People and the current health care system make it difficult to fulfill this obligation. Maybe, with the Reform Bill, more people will be able to do so.
this. the words maybe, hopefully, and should. These 3 different words are used throughout Obama's campaigns and this bill. Should we really be taking a guess that cost this much?

We have laws against assisted suicide, so why not ban smoking? I'd personally be in favor of such a ban. It's the number one cause of disease in the U.S. and one of the major reasons for high health care costs. This issue is way more important than illegal immigration as it has a much greater impact on the bad health of Americans.

So can I assume that you can avoid such words because you own a working crystal ball?

and im sure you would also be for monitoring food served.. closing places like mcdonalds, and so on? again it would be for the greater good..

the difference is finally obvious to me.. no offense we are just two different people.. i want to live my life and make choices.. have that life experience.. you want to completely s**t can the concept of freedom and work towards an all thinking all knowing nanny state.. with that understood we can simply not agree... ;)

Then you have nothing to worry about because you won't be paying for others health care.
yeah but they will eventually attempt to "fine" me:roll: and then there will be something for me to worry about..

I am for mandating that large fast food chains serve healthier food.

Your statements are exaggerations of my beliefs, but I do think our government should be involved in facilitating some improvements for the American people. Clearly, most changes do not require governmental intervention, but some do.

Well Ron, feel free to give up your rights since you devalue them so quickly.

You enjoy hyperbole. I value rights and have given none up.

The government should not step in until absolutely necessary. The health care industry and the republicans agreed that there was a major health care problem, but did not have a plan or desire to fix it (=self interests). Obama ran on a ticket for health care reform and won, indicating support from a majority of Americans on this topic. Democracy spoke. Despite the fact that I have an excellent health care plan that covers both me and my family, I supported him because I know that many don't.

Incredibly incorrect as will be proven come November. 34 democrats didn't vote for it, recognizing that their voters would oust them if they did.

The last Rasmussen poll showed that 54% of Americans did NOT approve of health care reform as the Dems had penned it. Only 41% of those polled approved of it.

America didn't want it. It was forced on us.
