Tow hooks are silly and the latest trend in modifying Civics.

Anyone know if the tweeters will fit in the mirror handle spot? I want some EX tweeters, but not on the door.
My EX came with tweeters in the mirror handle spot. I assume it's a factory option. But then my EX is a 2000, what year is yours? I'm wondering if the interiors are convertible.

BTW threadstarter I think your car looks pretty good. I kinda like the black on white thing, generally, and lately I've become a huge fan of carbon fiber hoods (by necessity). Though I prefer the look of no spoiler... this is my first car not to have one, and it's done wonders for ease of visibility.

You would have to have it molded in.

There are already US tweeters which fit the coupes and hatches though. To get the ones that fit on the inside of the mirror for a sedan you need to get them overseas.

My last and current EX coupe both have the mirror mounted tweeters. It's supposed to be an option but I've never seen an EX coupe without them.

Sooo while we are on the topic of "things to buy for No aparent reason"..

i have benen hooks and have used them twice.. once getting it onto a flat bed because the angle that the winch was at and the lowness of my car was about to cause my lip to be damaged.. and secondly when my alternator failed and we just hooked to the tow hook and pulled it.. i find it VERY usefull to have my tow hooks not burried under the car..

Is your car daily driven though?

I also live in a town surrounded by gravel pits, so there is always larger rocks and such on the road that get kicked up. :(
Are these the gravel pits that they put for truckers to go onto when they lose control of their trucks going down mountains? Those things are badass, I heard it's like a $100,000 fine to get towed out of there.

I'm on my first set of OEM ones too. Didn't pay $300, but whatever.

I had the DEPOs. They have grounding issues and leak like crazy. The switch broke within probably a year or so of ownership.

Then I replaced those with the Esuse ones after a screw snapped off in the DEPO housing. They were incredibly similar to the OE construction. The passenger one cracked, but looking at it it looks to have gotten hit pretty hard on a drive to and from Portland in the rain and hail. There were slivers and chips of glass along the seam where the glass meets the metal housing and then the front cracked, with a sliver falling out of the front of the glass too. Wiring was much better on the Esuse compared with the DEPO, but not quite as good as OE.

Now I have the OEM ones. Great construction, love the better feeling switch. The beam pattern is noticeably better than the DEPO and Esuse ones.

And hell yes my car is daily driven. It's very uncommon for anything on my car to break even though it's a daily.

well now that you went and said it...
It's far from the first time I've said it.

I've had a few little problems but no huge issues. Let's see... wiper motor (TSB out for this), transmission (common for these cars and since they're cheap it's not too big of a deal imo), a/c compressor, need to do a TSB fix on my moonroof (rattle). I can't even think of anything else offhand besides wear items (belts, lights, etc).

Oh, and that's in over five years of ownership, about 66,000 miles by myself (86,000 when purchased).

tmr mornin, its gonna fall about like a rust bucket from a comedy. sit down in your seat, the doors gonna fall off, bumper drop, wheels fall off on opposite corners, and a funny (comical) hissing noise will start.

EDIT: while typing that, all i couldt think of was the black crew cheif from Talladega Nights yelling "DONT YOU PUT THAT EVIL ON ME RICKY BOBBY! DONT YOU PUT THAT EVIL ON ME!" :rolf:

Why do I :what:need ones that fit inside the mirror of a sedan? I have a hatch. :what:

I can really care less about adjusting my mirrors with the little stick. Can I just remove the stick+bezel and put in a tweeter from a EX?

There's no reason you couldn't do this, but you'll lose the ability to adjust your mirrors from inside the car obviously.

Wonder what it would take to wire up some (OEM) electric mirrors? You could just get the whole assembly from a wrecked EX or something I'd bet.

i swapped out my OEM manual mirrors for some Spoon Replicas. and i have EX backing with the OEM Tweeters. and they snap right into place, and work. (had to run them to the audio harness being as how i have a CX hatch).

and yes i have lost the ability to adjust the mirrors from outside , But i am the ONLY one that drives my car. So i don't see why they would have moved from the last time i drove the car.

BTW thoes Spoon Replicas suckkk asss!!.. can't really see out of them for shittt!! ( Thank god there is no need to look in my mirrors at the track)..
but them again i have Solid mounts, and even with my OEM mirrors the view was as though i was under water with my eyes open! But with the Spoon Replicas it was horrible

The ones you posted are the USDM Civic sedan tweeters.

I don't remember who drives what and usually don't pay attention to who posted the question, so I didn't think about what you drove.

If he were to ever do a power door conversion then the power mirror and tweeter wiring come with it.

i havent read any post really.

BUT

ill add my 2 cents

here's mine

yes it DOES WORK. it DOES have a function. Honestly. I tested it out my self. I took it off. Went for ride, I rubbed against my interior, got some "electric" charge running,. got out my car, touched my car. ZAP.

repeated with it on. went for a drive. got out. no zap.

repeated with it off again and ZAP.

the myth is BUSTEDDDDDDD
