awesome car man.. next civic i get will get a k20 for sure..might have to live at home with the parents for awhile..but ill have a k20..lol

I also have seen and know that a bone stock k20 hatchie will run 12's for sure! Keep up the good work yo

Nice car been following this build for a while, nice pics and discussion. Just saw the video, that a cool vid but you should post up another on a less busy road so you can take it thru to 5th and mount that cam or something. anyway very nice car, ultra clean.

i really hate kids that compare evo/sti's to civics

lets see both cars in top gear floor it from 40 and see who wins the mile stretch

Everyones also forgetting that this is basically an N/A swap thats near the quality of a 39k turbo car.

So if he boosted with the average psi an sti is using and an evo is using, he'd stomp on them all night long. For half the price! And hed still be able to do more. XD

A K on 22psi in a hatch would be unreasonable..thats like over 600hp..lol At that point the AWD setup would prevail because any FWD wouldnt get traction.

The point is that the civic can beat a car that costs 3 times as much with a "simple" swap and a few bolt ons. Without boost or awd. You can do that with about anything though, it's just how you want to spend your money. Comparing a civic to an Evo or STi is just rediculous in the first place. 30K turbo awd car thats meant to be fast to a 10K or less fwd economy car that can be made to be very fast. It's by the far the stupid argument in the automotive world..."Well yeah you're viper's fast but I could swap in a motor from a SVT cobra into my focus and be just as fast for half the money." Shut up. Christ. Just respect the car for what it can do.

and i stated before: a simple swap will not put an ek into 12's. it needs slicks, chassis work, bolt ons... EXACTLY what you just proved (thanks for proving me right, i love it when ricers do that) with your little mod list to get a 12.81. of course a properly prepped k20 EK will get into the 12's... but not on the swap alone.

i'm aware of what a k20a can do. are you though? it doesn't seem that way with your crazy claims. i really liked the part where you posted a 230whp dyno as if that were the equivalent of proving your 290whp claim. like i said, IPS has a dyno of a 291whp k24, and i believe that without a problem.

digital - he has made tons of points u still fail to prove. i love ur car and respect u for the work u put in it, but so far ur all talk with no back-up. and i aint goin to another site to see what "other" people have. prove what u have

and both cars are fast. get over it. imo, k20 > evo for the money thats spent. but id take evo over civic any day if i had the money just cuz 4dr, awd, and the luxuries of just having a turbo.

but evo was poorly made imo. its simply amazing they can pull that many ponies out of a 2liter i4 but ever been in 1 when the driver floors it in top gear at under 40? can u say turbo lag? and the turning radius is horrific.

Try flooring ANY 4 cylinder outside of car like the elise at top gear under 40...you're not going anywhere. More R&D went into the suspension of the EVO than the entire chassis of most cars. But yes, the turning radius is rediculous.

true but ever actually see how incredibly long it takes for the car to actually start to pick up? forever. i bet a sohc civic could easily walk the evo at top gear pulls

Actually they did a top gear test of an EVO MR at 35 vs. some Kia or something and the kia won in a full mile stretch lol. But if you can keep it in the powerband they pull nicley. Can't expect that small of an engine with that much power not to lag.

About the comment that K civics can run 12s stock. I have a friend who ran a 11.6 on a stock motor and a 100 shot. Now without the 100 shot, your telling me he would of ran 13s? I dont think so. A 100 shot is not going to make you almost 2 seconds faster.

oh to spice things up Ive read somewhere Evo9 responds to mods so much better than Evo8 guy ran 11.95 with $1500 worth of mods im not sure if its tru let me look for the link :P
