1. i NEVER said whites didnt force blacks to be slaves
2. Africans DID sell each other to the whites to become slaves, how is that wrong?
3. i said if the roles were switched....meaning if it had been the other way around and blacks were the one's owning huge plantations in America and found a resource for cheap labor(slavery) they would have done the same thing whites did. Blacks did it in Africa, they would do it here. Do you honestly think that slavery originated in American by whites? NO, in Africa blacks used other blacks as slaves. mostly those that were captured in wars with neighboring tribes, but they still did... read history books bro, its all in there.

Personally I'd like for you to explain why what is being said is completely wrong. You seem to be upset with little to say. I hate to say this but I think you might be faking your stance on this. It is fact that Africans sold Africans to white people. That would make it a joint thing, it is the problem caused by both black ansestors and white ansestors.

do you think that whites chose to enslave blacks based solely on the color of their skin? blacks were the ones that were readily available and most likely the cheapest at the time. it was business, plain and simple

it could have gone any way, asians, mexicans, etc.

i understand that the slaves were not viewed as human, that also applies to any other race that has been enslaved in history. they were objects, they became posessions. it had nothing to do with the color of their skin.

i would have to disagree with you on this one. i dont think a lot of minorities hang on to the race card for the benefits. there really isnt that many benefits anyways for being minority. i didnt get no scholarships to MICHIGAN for being Latino. Noone gave me an A in a course cause i am Latino. Its hard for minorities to just out and prosper when everything is designed to make it hard for them to do so. how many universities do you paying attention to minority students.

Michigan for example has not been able to offer a permanent job to a Latino Coordinator position for the past 5 yrs. they cut almost all funding for Native American groups and staff positions. they fired a LGBTA staff member because of budget cuts. interesting how all these cuts are made to minority positons and groups.

think of it this way....if you f**k someone over...chances are youll have to make up for it right..after youve made up for it its all cool you dont owe them anything.
america did f**k people over and they have yet to make up for it. allowing white and black children to sit together, or not segregating waterfountains, or hiring a couple minorities to good positions here and there does not mean you have made up for what you did.

if you hold someone down while the rest of the world progresses...then you must help them back up. once you have done that then youll be clear of debt.

yeah..with the right education everyone may prosper...but you say it is easier for minorities cause of aid. picture a suburban high school and then pictures an inner city high school. who do you think will have a higher chance of going to college.

education is publicly funded right (at least before college) so if something is federally and publicly funded then why dont all schools have the same caliber teachers, resourcers, supplies, staff, locations, etc, etc.

whos making generalizations now? MY ANCESTORS didnt do any of that, my ancestors before the 1600s are dutch, and after the 1600s are south african. My parents are south african, and immigrated here in 1979. I was born right here in the US in 1984. My folks were RESIDENT ALIENS until the late 90s, when they finally got their us citizenship. You dont see us driving around repping the south african flag, you dont see a south african flag hanging outside of our house, and you sure as hell wont ever hear us say that our country is better than america, because if it was, we would still be there.
