the BEAM 3SGE is like the B18C5 of the toyota/Lexus world.

the cost of the engine varies between 4500-9k. not to mention you need the 6spd tranny. and im not sure how it would work with the IS300 being LHD...your better off finacnially just keeping the 2j that the IS300 comes with and boosting it.
if you stay NA with the 2j dont expect to make lots of power..it dosnt respond well to bolt ons and NA tuning.
your lucky if you get 220rwps.
currently im NA tuned (i listed my mods on page 3) and I have sero problems beating stock GTRS, TT supras, etc. :D

That almost made a grown man cry :lol: damn it. This is going to be my "chillin" car for lack of better words. I not even gonna try and make her fast. Just maybe and intake and exhaust..

its a 2 year assignment but we all extended for an xtra year so we will be here 3 years.

yeah i feel ya..i dont domuch racing or anyting...just chill and drive around..to work, to watch the races/drifts etc. i have taken her out a few nights for some drifting at the docks tho. but with the advan neovas costing US $300 each i try to miniize my drifting on them =) but sometimes i like to drift with the japanese..see if i can hang

about the speed thing..im not really into speed too much, but when u have 400,500.600hp beasts roaming around everwhere, its nice to be able to hang, even for just a little.

I did some reserch on the swap it doesnt seem to be to much of a problem to do the actual phsycal swap but it is expensive as hell and the aftermarket parts are hella expensive too.

Yeah and from the search i found out that the toyota TT motor is not to hard either...and would be cheaper.

exactly. you either boost the 2J that comes in the IS or you can do the 2JZGTE swap with the 6spd getrag.
basically the same engine i have in my Supra hehehe

thats tough...it will be the only real Altezza in america..and legit...

im thinking 25k ish?
i also have a SARD turbo kit that will be on the car when i sell it. the only reason its not on now is becasue i have to deal with emissions for the inspection

better start practicing shifting with your left hand!!! and remeber the turn signals/windshield wipers are reversed!

I have a buddy that had a RHD converted crx...it was pretty cool. Man have right hand turns ever been so hard :lol:

lol u get used to it. its gonna be weird driving RHD in america. actually its gonna be weird driving a LHD car again. i havent done it for 3 years. the first thing im gonna do is go thru the drive thru backwards hahaha

:rolf: yeah it is weird very weird.Go to turn on the blinker and wash the window instead.

i got my financing to buy it thru an american bank..the loan is under a Lexus IS300 tho

im thinking about building my own Astro dome. the JDM dome
casue im zero tolorance on this primo blast, but im not even trippin like that

This is the '98-'01 style front end (on my sister's car).


And this is the '94-'97 style front end (this one has a lip, so you can't as eqasily see the smoother bottom of the bumper, but you can see how the grill is shaped differently).

would you car only be legal in NJ... ive benen thinking about selling my civic for awhile now. i want to get outta the honda s**t and get something nicer

the car will be legal to register anywhere...it will have a US VIN and all. im just registering it in NJ casue thats where im from.
the japanse title will of course say 1999 toyota altezza..but the US title will read 2001 Lexus IS300.
