Oh man, I wasted all my money in like 2003 on a build like this. Man if I had that money to spend differently now.

I'll prolly resurface my D15Z1 flywheel for a real happy medium I think ;)

I have a set of D16a6 rods (one has surface rust) that I'll get checked out and run them if they turn out good. If not then the Y7's will have to do the trick.

Ah, but you learned alot I see? Don't worry, I know what I got myself into and feel perfectly fine with that for this build :D

there are decent hondas in arkansas?
Normally a dumb question would receive a dumb answer from me but........in all honestly, not very many bro
but there are a few that deserve to be on the map I think. (mine not included at this time)

I'll take that as a complement either way

NINJA EDIT: @FAITHhasME, I just noticed your close enough to come help put this bad boy in...lol

No offense taken man..Really though, most of the "Honda guys" are in central and north/centralwest Ar, though you can find rice here there and everywhere of course.

I'm only an hour north of Memphrica, feel free to give me a holla if you ever come up this way

Yeah i had a built y8 engine. I had a few more parts on mine. But I did learn a lot because it was the first engine I actually helped get taught to build.

I know I know, we're all waiting for "REAL" updates. I have a few parts comming, and will have more on the way next week. I may even get this dang block in the shop soon. But untill then I got this crazy looking monster in the mail. It's made by Brownline (I never heard of them) and I only payed $99 shipped w/ the cool "blown plastic" case and all. This 1/2" drive torque wrench is fricken huge at about 22-1/2inch and ranges from 15-150 ft/lbs. I havn't got to really play with it yet but despite the fact it prolly won't do alot of good inside the engine bay I think I can make good use out of it.

I'll do a product review on it one day

So I got a pretty decent pay check today and couldn't decide which dirrection to spend it, I'm sure this happens to everybody. So I came up with this great idea that I would write down 3 different companies that I wanted to give buisness to on 6 little pieces of paper (I would've spent about the same amount at each place but could only pick one) I also wrote the word "save" on 2 more little pieces of paper. I took the 8 pieces of paper and folded them up nice and tight and tossed them into a hat. Of course you know where this is going, so I had somebody pick a piece of paper out of the hat........needless to say I shouldn't have put "save" as an option. Guess we'll be waiting pretty much till next month to see how well that plan worked :ohsnap:

Most torque wrenches with that big of a range would not be usable at the bottom of the range. It's accurate range probably starts at 30 ft lbs so you may want a smaller one if you want to work on bolts in the head.

I have a working link posted to thier site that you can check out. But yeah it can do both and NM. I like the fact you can set it to the torque you want to hit and it has led lights and Beeps when you hit your goal. It has a few other features that I havn't got into yet.

Right, I'm umber paranoed about it actually lol. I have 3 now:

"Great Neck" via the Zone, 3/8" click style , 120-960 in/lbs

Craftsman, 3/8" click, 25-250 in/lbs

And now the 1/2" digital for the mid to big stuff. In theory there is just enough of a "sweet spot" to kinda cross check them if I feel the need to do so I guess ;)

Got 2 little packages today, one with the lanyard, and the other with the ES engine mount inserts.

Oh, and I said screw the saving bit and packed up the block parts to go to the shop tomorrow.

Thankz! It's been right at a year now since I started buying parts (not counting tools) for this build, I just didn't buy a camera till around christmas time lol .

So I got off work @ 8am yesterday and took the 3 hour trip to the machine shop. He looked over everything and mostly was happy with it all at first glance, exept with the Z6 crank.
I can only blame myself for not cleaning the crank and buying micrometer(which will be next on the list ) to check it for specs before I took it to the shop. The crank just happened to be "dirty" where there had been a spun bearing. He checked it out and basically said that he'll "try" to grind it and it will either make it to specs or it won't. I can't really be mad about it as I've had alot of luck in buying used parts so far *knock on wood*, and if nothing else it will make a great lamp . The down fall to this news is that my EX tranny came from the same source, sooo I guess I'll have to learn how to crack it open and make sure it's in better shape than the crank was :smackself.

Thankz alot! I talked to the guy that originally sold it to me and he said if it ends up being unusable that he would refund my money, so I may take you up on that offer if it comes down to it ;)
